Deel Pricing 2026: EOR, Contractor, Payroll and HR Costs
By Sparsh Goyal, Founder at The Cognitive. Published · Last updated
- Deel's EOR starts at $599 per employee per month, contractors at $49, payroll at $29 and Deel HR at $5, on month-to-month terms.
- The fee covers onboarding, payroll, tax filings, benefits administration and HR support, while salary and employer taxes are paid on top.
- Remote and Oyster HR also publish EOR prices but differ on terms and deposits, and Rippling sends a custom quote.
Deel publishes its prices. Its employer of record (EOR) starts at $599 per employee per month. Contractor management starts at $49 per contractor, global payroll at $29 per employee and Deel HR at $5 per employee, all per month. Those are starting prices: the country and the package set the final EOR figure, and it arrives in a quote after a demo.
Deel says its pricing is month to month, with no long-term commitment, and that the fee covers onboarding, payroll, tax filings, benefits administration and HR and legal support. The salary and the employer taxes are paid on top, and the quote should say which benefit costs the fee covers. There is no free plan and no free trial on the pricing page.
How much does Deel cost?
Deel's pricing page has five tabs: Hire, Manage, Pay, Equip and Bundle. Each tab is a separate product line, billed per worker, per employee or per user each month.
| Product | Starting price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Employer of record (EOR) | $599 per employee a month | Legal employment, payroll, tax filings, benefits admin |
| Contractors | $49 per contractor a month | Contracts, invoicing, payments in 120+ currencies |
| Contractor of Record | $325 per contractor a month | Deel takes on the classification risk |
| US PEO | $110 to $125 per employee a month | Co-employment in all 50 states; needs a US entity |
| Global payroll | $29 per employee a month | Payroll for your own entities, 130+ countries |
| US payroll | $29 per employee a month | Self-service payroll and tax in all 50 states |
| Deel HR | $5, $19 or $29 per employee a month | Core, Advanced or Elite HR system |
| Deel ATS (add-on) | $10 per employee a month | Job posts and candidate tracking; needs Deel HR |
| Find talent | $14 per worker a month | Job posts, AI screening, scheduling, offers |
| Deel IT | $49, $139 or $149 per user a month | Devices, device management, security |
| Bundles | From $22 per employee a month | Deel HR with payroll or a PEO |
| Deel Mobility (visas) | Quote | Visas and work permits; free eligibility check |
The US PEO line shows two prices because Deel's page does. The Hire tab says $125 per PEO employee per month. The Pay tab splits the PEO into PEO Starter at $110 and PEO Pro at $120. Ask which plan your quote is built on.
The Pay tab also lists add-ons, each per employee per month. Global benefits management costs $10, Payroll Connect $5, Treasury Services $10 and expense management from $8. They are optional, and Deel describes most of them as built for companies on Deel Payroll.

What does Deel's employer of record cost, and what does the fee cover?
Deel's EOR starts at $599 per employee per month. An EOR is the legal employer of your hire in a country where you have no entity. Deel signs the local contract, runs payroll and keeps the job compliant with local law, while you direct the work.
Deel's FAQ lists what the EOR fee covers:
- Employee onboarding and local compliance
- Payroll processing and tax filings
- Benefits administration, such as healthcare and pensions
- Ongoing HR and legal support
Read the third line closely. Deel's FAQ lists benefits administration, and its plan cards list benefits as included, but neither says whether the plan premiums sit inside the fee. Your monthly bill is the salary, plus the employer taxes and statutory contributions the country requires, plus Deel's fee, plus any benefit costs your quote does not include. Ask which benefit costs the quoted fee covers.
The country, the benefits you choose and the size of your team move the $599 starting price, so price the first hire in the exact country before you budget the second.
How many countries does Deel's EOR cover?
Deel's Hire tab says full legal employment in 130+ countries, and its EOR page says Deel owns entities and payroll in 130+ countries. The EOR card on the Pay tab says full legal employment in 150+ countries, and the homepage and EOR page also use 150+. If you plan to employ someone in a less common country, ask Deel to confirm it is an EOR country before you budget.
Deel also says it can onboard a new EOR employee "in as little as one day", and that any IP the employee creates passes to you, the customer. Both are Deel's own statements.
What do Deel's other plans include?
Contractors and Contractor of Record
Contractor management starts at $49 per contractor per month. You get contracts, automated invoicing, tax form guidance and payments in 120+ currencies. You stay the client, so classification is still your call.
Contractor of Record starts at $325 per contractor per month. Here Deel takes on the contractor relationship, so the risk of a contractor being reclassified as an employee shifts to Deel. That is the reason to pay more than six times the basic contractor price.
Payroll and PEO
Deel Payroll is for companies that already have their own entity. It costs $29 per employee per month, globally or in the US, and the managed global version includes a dedicated Deel payroll manager. The US PEO is different again: co-employment, where Deel shares the employer role and brings its health benefits. Deel says the PEO requires a legal entity in the US.
Deel HR and the ATS add-on
Deel HR comes in three plans, each per employee per month:
- Core, $5: worker profiles, org chart, permissions, time off, time and attendance, reporting and global compliance.
- Advanced, $19: Core plus performance reviews, goals, learning, engagement surveys and development plans.
- Elite, $29: Advanced plus pay bands, compensation cycles, a total rewards portal and headcount planning.
Some older guides still describe Deel HR as free for smaller teams. The current pricing page shows no free HR tier. Deel's ATS is an add-on from $10 per employee per month. Deel says it needs Deel HR as the foundation, so the real entry price is the two together. For other HR systems, see the best HR software by use case.
Deel IT
Deel IT is priced per user per month: Starter at $49, Growth at $139 and Scale at $149. Starter covers the device lifecycle, device management and endpoint protection. Growth adds 24/7 IT support, and Scale adds access management. Deel says any item in an IT plan can also be bought on its own.
Bundles
Bundles pair Deel HR with payroll or a PEO. Deel HR with US payroll starts at $22 per employee per month and with Canada payroll at $35. Deel HR with the PEO starts at $110. Only the PEO Pro bundles include PEO-sponsored health benefits; the PEO Starter bundles do not.
What costs sit outside the Deel fee?
Deel's pricing FAQ says "All costs, including local compliance, payroll, and benefits administration, are included in your quoted price", and that there are no hidden fees. That holds for Deel's own fee. It does not mean the fee is the whole cost of a hire.
- Salary and employer costs. The gross salary, the employer taxes and the statutory contributions of the country are paid on top of Deel's fee every month.
- Benefit plans. Deel administers health insurance and pensions. Ask which plan costs are in the fee and which are billed on top.
- Ending employment. Deel says EOR employees fall under local labor law when you cancel, including notice periods and severance. Those costs follow the country, not the Deel contract.
- A deposit. Deel's pricing page does not list one. Third-party guides disagree on whether and how much Deel asks. Get the answer in writing in your quote.
- Currency exchange. Deel says it offers "competitive exchange rates" with "minimal fees", and it publishes no figure. Ask what rate and fee apply to your funding currency.
- Visas. Deel Mobility is priced by quote, after the free eligibility check.
Questions to ask in the quote
Ask for these five answers in writing before you sign.
- What is the monthly fee for this exact country, and what does the full employer cost come to on top?
- Is a deposit or a reserve required, how much, and when is it returned?
- What exchange rate and fee apply when payroll is funded?
- Which benefits are included in the package, and which are paid for separately?
- What notice and severance would apply if the role ends in the first year?
Does Deel need a long-term contract or offer a free trial?
No long-term contract is needed for the standard plans. Deel's FAQ says it offers "flexible month-to-month pricing with no long-term commitments required" and that you can cancel at any time. For EOR employees, cancelling Deel does not cancel local law: the notice and severance rules of the country still apply.
Promotions can change that. Deel sometimes runs PEO offers, such as free months of platform fees, that need a two-year term and are repaid at list price if you leave early. Read the terms before you take one.
There is no free trial. Deel's FAQ answers "Can I try Deel before committing?" with a free demo or a talk with its team, and every plan starts with "Book a demo". No self-serve checkout appears on the pricing page.
How does Deel's pricing compare with Remote, Rippling and Oyster?
All four charge a monthly fee per EOR employee on top of salary and employer costs. They differ on whether the price is public, how long you commit and whether a deposit applies.
| Provider | EOR pricing model | Price on website? | Terms | Deposit | EOR countries |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deel | Per employee, from a starting price | Yes | Month to month | Not on the pricing page | 130+ |
| Remote | Per employee, no base fee | Yes | Annual contracts | Reserve in some cases | 90+ |
| Rippling | Custom quote, plus a base fee | No | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated |
| Oyster HR | Per seat | Yes | Monthly or annual | Refundable deposit for EOR staff | 120+ (pricing page) |
Remote prices its EOR for annual contracts and says it uses "100% owned entities, no third parties". It covers fewer EOR countries than Deel, 90+ against 130+, and gives an average onboarding time of three days; Deel says it can onboard in as little as one day, which is a fastest case, not an average. Pick Remote if you want the legal employer to own every entity and can commit for a year.
Rippling sends a custom quote for its EOR. It suits companies already on Rippling for HR, payroll and IT. Rippling says it can convert EOR employees to direct hires without re-onboarding once you open an entity, which it says can take 6 to 12 months. More in the Rippling pricing guide.
Oyster HR lets you open an account free and starts charging once you engage a worker, with annual discounts. It requires a refundable deposit for EOR staff and offers discounts for nonprofits and B Corps through Oyster for Impact. Its pricing page lists compliant employment in 120+ countries, and its homepage says 180+.
Deel's edge is flexibility and range: month-to-month terms, more stated EOR countries than Remote, and contractors, payroll, HR and IT on one bill. The trade-off is that a growing Deel bill is spread across many small per-head lines, so add them up per employee before you compare.
Does Deel help you find the person to hire?
Yes, Deel now sells hiring tools. Its Find talent plan, from $14 per worker per month, covers job posting, AI screening, offer generation, interview scheduling and AI interview summaries, plus access to Deel's talent marketplace and partners. Its ATS add-on posts jobs to 1,000+ job boards, lists AI-powered sourcing, runs criteria-based first-round screens and records and summarises interviews with the candidate's consent.
Deel's hiring tools are built around job posts, its talent partners and the candidates already in your pool. When the right person is not applying, a recruiter often needs to search people directly before any EOR is involved.
Onboarding is the short part. Deel says it can onboard an EOR hire in as little as one day, while finding the person takes weeks: Ashby's 2026 Talent Trends Report puts the median time to hire at 30 days for business roles and 40 for technical ones.
The Cognitive is recruiting software, not an EOR. It handles the step before Deel: finding and screening the person.
A recruiter describes the role in plain English, for example a senior backend engineer in Germany. The brief turns into filters they can edit, including the country, Remote and a working time zone. The Cognitive's AI sourcing searches about 900M public profiles, including people who never applied, and gives a short reason for each match. On the Sourcing Team plan and on Sourcing Pro and above, emails go out from the recruiter's own mailbox, and follow-ups stop when the person replies.
The first round is a live two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes, in one of 9 languages. Candidates book a slot shown in their own time zone. The AI asks follow-up questions based on the answers while the rubric stays fixed, and the report scores the candidate against the role's criteria, with the transcript.
On higher plans, candidates sync with 100+ ATS. Plans start at $99 a month.
The finalist then goes to Deel, or another EOR, to be employed. The Cognitive does not run payroll, benefits, employment contracts, visas, offers or contractor payments. For the rest of a remote hiring stack, see the best tools for remote recruitment.
Is Deel worth the price?
Deel is worth it if you hire in several countries, mix employees and contractors, and want one system for all of them on month-to-month terms. Deel says it serves 40,000+ customers. The $599 starting fee is easier to justify for a senior hire in a country where opening an entity would take months.
It fits less well in three cases:
- One or two hires in one country for years. Over a long stay, your own entity and local payroll at $29 per employee may cost less. Get an entity quote before you commit.
- Contractors who really are contractors. The $49 contractor plan or no platform at all may be enough. Contractor of Record at $325 pays off only when the classification risk is real.
- Only US employees. A US PEO or US payroll is the line to price, not the EOR.
How to start
Write down the country, the salary and the start date of your first hire. Ask Deel and one other provider to quote that exact case, with the deposit, the exchange fee and the full employer cost in writing.
If you do not have the person yet, start there instead. Describe the role, set the country and see who exists for it. The Cognitive's 7-day trial needs no card, and the first 100 people are free. Start free with The Cognitive.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Deel cost per month?
Deel's employer of record starts at $599 per employee per month. Contractor management starts at $49 per contractor per month and Contractor of Record at $325. Global or US payroll costs $29 per employee, and Deel HR starts at $5 per employee for the Core plan. EOR, contractor and PEO prices are starting prices; the final figure comes in a quote for your country.
Is Deel free for contractors?
No, Deel's pricing page shows no free contractor tier. Contractor management starts at $49 per contractor per month and covers contracts, invoicing, payments in 120+ currencies and tax form guidance. The free items on Deel's pricing page are a product demo and a self-serve visa eligibility tool.
Does Deel charge a deposit for EOR employees?
Deel's pricing page does not list a deposit. Third-party guides disagree on whether Deel asks for one and how much, so ask for the answer in writing in your quote. Among other providers, Remote says it charges no standard deposit but may ask for a refundable reserve, and Oyster HR requires a refundable deposit for EOR staff.
Can you cancel Deel at any time?
Yes, Deel says its standard pricing is month to month and can be cancelled at any time. For EOR employees, the notice periods and severance rules of the employee's country still apply when the employment ends. Promotional offers can carry a longer term, so read their terms before you sign.
What is the difference between Deel EOR and Deel PEO?
Deel's EOR employs your hire in a country where you have no entity, while its US PEO shares the employer role with your own US entity. The EOR starts at $599 per employee per month and covers 130+ countries. The PEO is for US employees only, needs a legal entity in the US and starts at $110 to $125 per employee per month, depending on the plan.
Is Deel cheaper than Remote?
Neither is cheaper everywhere: the country and the contract term decide, so compare two quotes for the same hire. Both publish a starting EOR price per employee per month. Deel prices its EOR month to month, while Remote prices its EOR for annual contracts and includes its platform with no base fee. Remote says it employs through 100% owned entities in 90+ countries; Deel lists 130+ EOR countries.
Can Deel help you find candidates?
Yes, Deel sells hiring tools. Its Find talent plan starts at $14 per worker per month, with job posting, AI screening, interview scheduling and offer generation, and its ATS add-on starts at $10 per employee per month on top of Deel HR. Deel's ATS also lists AI sourcing and access to talent partners. Recruiting software such as The Cognitive searches about 900M public profiles directly and runs a live AI video first interview, then the chosen person goes to Deel or another EOR to be employed.
What are the main alternatives to Deel?
Three EOR providers that compete with Deel are Remote, Rippling and Oyster HR. Remote and Oyster HR publish EOR prices per employee per month, and Rippling sends a custom quote. Remote prices its EOR for annual contracts, Oyster HR requires a refundable deposit for EOR staff, and Deel prices month to month. Compare quotes for the same country and salary.
Is Deel cheaper than setting up your own entity?
Deel says an EOR can be significantly more cost-effective than setting up entities, and Rippling says opening an entity can take 6 to 12 months. For a stable team in one country over several years, your own entity plus local payroll, which Deel sells from $29 per employee per month, may cost less. Get an entity quote and an EOR quote for the same headcount.
