HireVue Pricing 2026: Plans, Costs and What Buyers Pay

The Cognitive homepage, a published-price alternative in a guide to HireVue pricing in 2026

HireVue does not publish its prices. Its pricing page has no plans, no prices and no free trial, only a contact form, a Request Demo button and an ROI calculator. Third-party buyer data gives two very different medians: about $20,900 a year on Vendr's marketplace and $124,927 a year on CostBench. Both rest on small samples.

In practice, HireVue costs whatever your quote says, and the quote depends on modules, interview volume and contract length. If you want a published price instead, The Cognitive's AI Interview plans start at $99 a month, with a live two-way AI video interview and a 7-day free trial.

Does HireVue publish its prices?

No. HireVue's pricing page opens with "Amplify your hiring power" and says the platform is built "from mid-market to enterprise". Below a short video sits the heading "Need help choosing the right plan for your business?" and a contact form. There are no plan cards, no plan names, no prices and no seat or volume counts.

The rest of the page sells the platform rather than pricing it. A customer quote says it "saves 20 minutes per candidate". The FAQ makes these points:

The page closes with "Find out how much Hirevue can save your organization" and a link to an ROI calculator. HireVue sells on value per hire, and every path leads to a sales conversation. The archived copy of the page from June 2026 looks the same, with no prices.

There is no free trial, no free plan and no self-serve signup either. The site offers Log In and Request Demo, nothing else.

HireVue homepage
HireVue's homepage leads with a Request Demo button, not a price.

What you buy is a set of modules. HireVue's own navigation lists them:

The homepage claims 70M interviews and 200M assessments completed, and customers in 40% of the Fortune 100. A quote is usually a bundle of some of these modules, sized to your volume. For a feature-level read, see our HireVue review.

How much does HireVue cost in 2026?

HireVue names no plans on its site. Third-party price trackers list three packages: Essential (sometimes Essentials), Enterprise and Premium. Vendr's marketplace lists all three. PricingSaaS tracks two, Essential and Premium, both marked "Contact". Treat these as the names buyers report, not a HireVue plan list.

HireVue's pricing page shows no prices. Figures from Vendr, CostBench and PricingSaaS, October 2026; features as reported by CostBench.

Buyer data, any packageVendr median $20,900 (low $9,794, high $41,056). Vendr average $49,855. CostBench median $124,927.Implementation billed separately

These numbers do not agree. Vendr's two pages differ by more than 2x. The marketplace shows a median of $20,900 a year. The Vendr buyer guide shows an average contract value of $49,855, drawn from "more than 5 completed deals and 3 unique purchasers".

CostBench, last verified 16 July 2026, puts the median at $124,927 from 5 buyer reports. That is about 6x Vendr's median. CostBench calls its figures "indicative market pricing", not official vendor pricing, and its own tier figures shift from one section to the next.

A few mid-market deals pull a median down; one large enterprise contract pulls an average up. None of these sources tells you what your company will pay. They give you the range you may hear in a first call, and a reference point to push back with.

What drives the cost of a HireVue contract?

Because every deal is quoted, the price moves with a few levers. Know them before the demo and you can shape the quote instead of receiving it.

What moves a HireVue quote, per HireVue's site, Vendr and CostBench, October 2026.
DriverWhy it matters
ModulesAI Interviewer, assessments, scheduling and live video are separate products. CostBench puts AI assessments in Enterprise and above.
VolumeTrackers describe pricing sized to interviews and assessments per year.
Company sizeCostBench ties its lowest figure to 2,500 to 7,500 employees.
ServicesHireVue confirms a professional services team. Setup is billed apart.
IntegrationsWorkday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Taleo, iCIMS, Greenhouse and others. Deeper ATS work means more services time.
TermVendr lists multi-year commitments as a way to lower the annual cost.

What does HireVue cost per interview?

HireVue publishes no per-interview rate, and the trackers report annual totals only. To get your own figure, divide the annual quote, plus implementation spread over the term, by the interviews you will actually run.

Volume decides whether a quote-priced platform pays off. Ashby's 2026 Talent Trends report (April 2026) counts 291 applications per hire, up from about 100 in early 2021. A team screening at that scale spreads a fixed fee thin. A team hiring a dozen people a year does not.

What hidden costs come with HireVue?

The quote is not the whole bill. Four items catch buyers out.

Implementation. CostBench reports one-time fees of $10,000 to $50,000 on top of the subscription. Ask whether setup, ATS integration and training sit inside the quote.

Auto-renewal notice. A Vendr community note says HireVue contracts need 60 days' notice to opt out of renewal. CostBench reports the same window. Miss it and you have likely bought another year.

Minimum term. CostBench reports a one-year minimum. HireVue's site offers no monthly option.

Volume caps. If the contract is sized to a number of interviews or assessments, ask what happens when you go over. HireVue publishes no overage terms, so get them in writing.

How do you negotiate a HireVue contract?

Quote-priced software leaves room to negotiate. These moves follow from the levers above.

  1. Bring the third-party range to the first call. Name the Vendr and CostBench medians, and say which one your volume looks like.
  2. Buy only the modules you will use in year one. If you need video screening now, do not pay for assessments you might switch on later.
  3. Price multi-year against flexibility. Take a longer term only if you are sure of your volume, and ask for a cap on renewal increases.
  4. Put implementation in the quote. Ask for setup, integration and training as fixed line items, or waived.
  5. Diary the renewal deadline the day you sign. Count back from the renewal date and add a week for internal sign-off.
  6. Run HireVue's own ROI calculator. If the vendor's numbers do not justify the quote at your volume, say so.

Questions to ask in the demo

Ask for these answers in writing:

Is HireVue worth it?

HireVue is worth it for large, regulated, high-volume employers that need breadth and compliance more than a low price. It is hard to justify for a small team that hires a handful of people a year.

It offers one-way video, live interviews, an AI Interviewer with a custom 1 to 5 rubric, assessments and scheduling in one suite. Its AI Interviewer page lists fairness audits against NYLL144, EEOC and OFCCP rules, plus accommodation requests and AI opt-out paths.

Its enterprise ATS integrations run deep; the integrations page counts more than 140 live Workday customers. The FedRAMP claim matters if you hire for the US public sector. HireVue says its AI Interviewer saves recruiters 10 hours a week, a vendor claim worth testing in a pilot.

The case against is fit. Quote-only pricing, an annual minimum, a renewal notice window and separate setup fees add up to a heavy commitment. HireVue also works with people who apply. If your best hires are people who never applied, you still need a way to find them.

What are cheaper HireVue alternatives?

These tools publish a price, so you can see it before you talk to sales. (The Cognitive is our product.) For ten alternatives reviewed in depth, read our HireVue alternatives guide.

1. The Cognitive: best for sourcing-led hiring with a live AI interview

The Cognitive finds candidates as well as interviewing them. Type the role in one sentence and it searches about 900M public profiles. Each result says why the person matches.

Shortlisted people take a live two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes, the recruiter's choice. They see an AI interviewer on screen and answer on camera. The interviewer asks role questions and follows up on what they say. You get a recording and a scored report against the criteria you set, with cheat detection flagging anything suspicious. Interviews run in a laptop or desktop browser.

Pricing model: AI Sourcing and AI Interviews are separate plans, each from $99 a month. A 20-minute interview uses 100 credits; details are on our pricing page. Email outreach from your own Gmail or Outlook comes with Sourcing Pro and above. ATS sync with 100+ ATS comes on the higher Interview plans (Pro, Max, Business and Enterprise). There is a 7-day free trial with no card.

Watch out for: no one-way recorded interviews, no assessment library, no phone interviews and no FedRAMP. Phones are blocked for interviews. If you need those, HireVue covers them and we do not.

2. Spark Hire: best for an ATS with one-way video built in

Spark Hire pairs an applicant tracking system with one-way video interviewing, included on its Pro plan. Pricing model: published prices based on employee count, under an annual contract.

3. Willo: best for asynchronous video screening on a set budget

Willo runs async video interviews. Pricing model: published annual subscriptions or pricing per live role, with discounts for two and three year terms.

4. Hireflix: best for simple one-way video interviews

Hireflix does one-way video interviews and little else, which keeps rollout easy. Pricing model: two published tiers billed yearly, plus a custom tier, with a one-month free trial.

5. TestGorilla: best for skills assessments with video questions

TestGorilla is an assessment platform that adds AI and video interview questions. Pricing model: a free plan, then paid assessment plans priced per account.

The last row matters. Gem's 2026 benchmarks (December 2025) found sourced candidates nearly 8x more likely to be hired than applicants. HireVue makes screening applicants faster. It does not find the people who were never going to apply. For one head-to-head with an AI-first interviewer, see HireVue vs Apriora.

How much does HireVue cost per year?

HireVue does not publish a price, so the cost is whatever your quote says. Third-party data varies widely. HireVue does not say why, but its site shows that every deal is built to order. It sells separate modules, from AI Interviewer to assessments and scheduling, to companies it describes as mid-market to enterprise. Its pricing page offers a contact form and an ROI calculator instead of plans, so the price depends on which modules and how much volume you buy.

Does HireVue have a plan for small businesses?

No, HireVue has no small-business plan on its site. Its pricing page says the platform is built "from mid-market to enterprise", and its mid-market page describes "hiring software built for mid-sized companies". CostBench ties its lowest reported figure to companies with 2,500 to 7,500 employees.

Is there a HireVue free trial?

No, you cannot try HireVue for free. There is no free plan and no self-serve signup; the site offers Log In and Request Demo only. CostBench and PricingSaaS also record no free tier.

How much does HireVue cost per interview or per candidate?

HireVue publishes no per-interview or per-candidate rate, and third-party trackers report annual totals only. To get your own figure, divide the annual quote, plus implementation spread over the term, by the interviews you will run. Candidates pay nothing; HireVue's FAQ says the platform is free for them.

Does a HireVue contract auto-renew?

Yes, according to third-party sources. A Vendr community note and CostBench both report that you must give 60 days' notice to opt out of renewal. CostBench also reports a one-year minimum term.

Has HireVue pricing changed in 2026?

There is no sign of a change: HireVue's pricing page still shows no prices. The archived June 2026 copy has the same layout, and PricingSaaS shows no tracked price changes, with its latest capture on 17 June 2026.
