Jobma Alternatives for 2026: 10 Tools for One-Way, Live and AI Video Interviews
By Sparsh Goyal, Founder at The Cognitive. Published · Last updated
- The best Jobma alternative in 2026 is The Cognitive for sourcing plus a live AI interview, followed by TestGorilla for tests and AI interviews, HireVue for audited enterprise hiring, and Alex and HeyMilo for multi-channel AI screening.
- The Cognitive searches ~900M public profiles and runs a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes with resume claims checked, at a published price; it has no one-way mode, so keep a recorder if you need one.
- Pick Spark Hire, Willo, Hireflix or Truffle if you only used Jobma for one-way video, and VidCruiter for live panels with rating guides.
- I run The Cognitive. The other 9 are judged from their own websites, read on 4 October 2026.
The best Jobma alternative in 2026 is The Cognitive if you want a live AI interview plus a way to find new candidates, with TestGorilla as the closest rival on both counts. For one-way video, Spark Hire and Willo are the closest Jobma swaps. For a live two-way AI interviewer sold to large teams, look at HireVue, Alex and HeyMilo.
Jobma already does a lot. It runs one-way, live and AI video interviews plus skills tests, so most people leaving it want something it doesn't sell, a price they can see, or less platform. Gem's 2026 recruiting benchmarks, built on 1.2 million hires, found recruiters juggling 13.4 open roles at a time, with interviews per hire up 33% since 2021. Every tool below cuts some of that interview load in a different way.
The best Jobma alternatives in 2026
- The Cognitive: best for sourcing new candidates and interviewing them live with AI.
- TestGorilla: best for skills tests, AI interviews and sourcing from one vendor.
- HireVue: best for enterprises that need audit paperwork behind the AI.
- Alex: best for AI interviews across video, phone and text.
- HeyMilo: best for staffing and BPO teams screening at volume.
- Spark Hire: best for lean teams that want one-way and live video on a monthly plan.
- Willo: best for one-way video without an annual contract.
- VidCruiter: best for structured live and recorded interviews with rating guides.
- Hireflix: best for the simplest one-way interview, with unlimited seats.
- Truffle: best for small teams that want one-way answers ranked for them.
Full disclosure: I run The Cognitive. Putting it first is my judgment, and here is the reason you can check: it adds the one job Jobma's site doesn't cover, a search for new people across ~900M public profiles, and then interviews them live with AI in an account you can open without a sales call, at a published price. TestGorilla passes that same test, since it searches more than 900 million profiles, runs AI interviews with follow-up questions and has a free plan, so I make no "only" claim. After #1 the order is my judgment of how well each tool replaces what Jobma does. I haven't used the other 9 on a paid account. What I say about them comes from their own websites, read on 4 October 2026.
What is Jobma, and why do teams look for an alternative?
Jobma calls itself an "Intelligent, Human-first Hiring System". It sells one-way video, live video with panels and an "AI Interviewer (Agentic AI)" in one product, with scheduling and skills tests alongside, in 16 languages.
Jobma says its agent "engages candidates in real-time, asking adaptive follow-up questions", and a human interviewer "can join an ongoing AI interview and take over instantly". Recruiters set the skills to assess and a few opening questions, but its FAQ says they "can't customize every specific question asked by the AI interviewer".
So people search for a Jobma alternative for reasons of fit. All 4 plans say "Request Pricing", the AI interviewer is ticked only on Professional and Enterprise, I found no search of outside profiles on Jobma's site, and some teams only need one-way video.
How do the top Jobma competitors compare?
Here is how they stack up. I filled in every cell from the vendor's own site on 4 October 2026:
| Tool | Best for | Interview formats | AI interviewer that follows up? | Finds people outside your database? | Price on website? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jobma | The tool you're leaving | One-way, live, panel, AI | Yes, on Professional and Enterprise | No | No |
| The Cognitive | Sourcing plus a live AI interview | Live AI video, 10 or 20 minutes | Yes, two-way video | Yes, ~900M public profiles | Yes |
| TestGorilla | Tests, AI interviews and sourcing | AI interviews, video questions | Yes, "follow-up questions in the moment" | Yes, over 900 million profiles | Yes |
| HireVue | Audited enterprise hiring | On-demand, live, AI | Yes, "natural two-way conversation" | No | No |
| Alex | Multi-channel AI interviews | AI by video, phone, SMS, WhatsApp | Yes, "real-time, two-way" | No, rediscovers your ATS talent | No |
| HeyMilo | Staffing and BPO volume | AI video, phone, SMS | Yes, "asks relevant follow-ups" | No, resurfaces your ATS talent | No |
| Spark Hire | Lean teams, monthly | One-way, live | No; AI scores recordings | No | Yes |
| Willo | No-contract one-way video | One-way, assessments | No | No | Lite only |
| VidCruiter | Structured, regulated hiring | Pre-recorded, live | "Coming soon" | No | No |
| Hireflix | Simplest one-way | One-way only | No | No | Yes |
| Truffle | Ranked one-way answers | Async video and audio | No | No | Yes |
How did we rank these Jobma alternatives?
I started with 11 tools from the names Jobma compares itself to and the vendors buyers mention next to it. I kept 9, plus The Cognitive. Sapia.ai came off because its interviews run by chat, not video. myInterview came off because its domain now redirects to Radancy's screening and scheduling product, sold inside Radancy's wider platform.
For the rest I read each vendor's product and pricing pages on 4 October 2026 and checked 4 things: the interview formats, whether an AI interviewer follows up, whether a price is published, and whether it finds candidates who never applied. I couldn't sit a candidate-side interview on the other tools, so I make no claim about how well any of them scores.
How do you choose a Jobma alternative?
Which Jobma format do you actually use?
Pull a month of usage before you shop. Teams that mostly send one-way interviews can move to Spark Hire, Willo, Hireflix or Truffle (if the format is new to you, see how a one way video interview works). Teams that lean on the AI interviewer should compare The Cognitive, TestGorilla, HireVue, Alex and HeyMilo. For live panels, VidCruiter and HireVue fit best.
Do you need the AI to follow up, or is a recording enough?
A recording captures what a candidate prepared; a follow-up shows whether they can go deeper. Gem's data says only 8% of applicants pass the initial screen, so the first round decides a lot. In The Cognitive the rubric is fixed for the role and the questions adapt live to each answer, for 10 or 20 minutes, in any of 9 languages. We compare the formats in AI video interviews run live.
Do you also need more candidates?
Jobma, like most interview tools, works on people who already applied. If your pipeline is thin, TestGorilla and The Cognitive can search for new people. The Cognitive searches ~900M public profiles from a plain-English brief, and you invite the people you shortlist straight to an interview.
Can you buy without a sales call?
Jobma, HireVue, Alex, HeyMilo and VidCruiter all start with a demo or a form. The Cognitive, TestGorilla, Spark Hire, Hireflix and Truffle publish prices, and Willo publishes its Lite plan. To test on a live role this week, start with the second group.
Will someone check what the resume claims?
Gem found interviews per hire are up 33% since 2021, which is a lot of hiring-manager time to spend on resumes that oversell. The Cognitive's report marks up to 5 resume claims VERIFIED, REFUTED or UNCLEAR, with the evidence from the interview, so you can see which claims held up before you book the next round.
The 10 best Jobma alternatives, reviewed
1. The Cognitive: best for sourcing new candidates and interviewing them live with AI
The Cognitive is AI recruiting software that sources candidates across ~900M public profiles and interviews them live with AI. Jobma starts once someone has applied; The Cognitive can find them first.
Sourcing starts with a brief in plain English, read into filters you can edit. When we typed "Senior backend engineer with 5+ years of Go who has built payments systems, Remote EU", the filters included "Remote EU", read as Germany plus 7 other countries. Each result card opens with a "Why this match" line of 1 or 2 reasons traced to the profile. You can reveal verified emails and phone numbers, and on the Sourcing Pro plan you can send email and SMS sequences.
The interview is the part to compare with Jobma's AI interviewer. You can select any number of candidates, sourced or imported from your applicant tracking system (ATS), and invite them in one go. They book their own slot without creating an account, and the invitation tells them the interview is run by AI. It's a live, two-way video interview of 10 or 20 minutes, and the questions follow what the candidate just said while the rubric stays fixed for the role.
The 5-minute recording above is a live AI interview for a go-to-market role. The AI asks about an outbound email campaign, then follows up on reply rates and lead qualification.
The report gives a 1 to 5 score per criterion, overall written feedback, a weighted score out of 100, a suggested verdict, the transcript and the recording. Resume claims come back marked VERIFIED, REFUTED or UNCLEAR, with evidence. Nothing is rejected automatically, and integrity flags are logged, not scored. You can share a read-only link with the scores, written feedback and recording, though not the transcript.
The Cognitive connects to 60+ ATSs, including Greenhouse, Workday, iCIMS and BambooHR. For candidates imported from your ATS, it writes back a note with the score, summary and report link. People you source inside The Cognitive aren't written to your ATS automatically. Compared with Jobma, it has no one-way mode, no human panel room, no coding editor and no test library, and it runs in 9 languages to Jobma's 16.
Pick it if you want the first-round interview off your calendar and sometimes need to find the candidates too. AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month, on monthly plans you can cancel anytime. More on our AI interviewer and AI sourcing pages.

2. TestGorilla: best for skills tests, AI interviews and sourcing from one vendor
TestGorilla is the closest match if you used Jobma's assessments as much as its interviews. Its AI interviews use an AI interviewer that "asks dynamic follow-up questions in the moment", and its simpler video questions are answered "in their own time" and scored by AI.
Gorilla Sourcing says it searches more than 900 million profiles, turns a plain-language brief into "must-haves and nice-to-haves", and lets you email people from a connected mailbox. The pricing page has free plans, prices Assessments per account and publishes its paid prices. The catch is volume on the free plan, which says "Create limited video questions and AI interviews", so real use means a paid plan. Our TestGorilla alternatives guide covers its rivals, and the talent assessment tools comparison covers the test side.
Pick it if you want tests, AI interviews and a sourcing search from the same vendor, and you can start free.
3. HireVue: best for enterprises that need audit paperwork behind the AI
HireVue is the enterprise name Jobma compares itself to first, and it says 70M interviews have been completed on it. Its AI Interviewer asks "probing follow-up questions, in a natural two-way conversation" against a "Custom 1-5 rubric". Candidates can opt out of AI, and HireVue lists "Annual independent audits" with documents for your legal team.
The pricing page shows no prices and leads to a demo, aimed "From mid-market to enterprise". That's the trade-off: strong governance, sold through a sales cycle. Our HireVue review and HireVue alternatives guide go deeper.
Pick it if you hire at large volume and your legal team wants audits and AI opt-out paths in writing.
4. Alex: best for AI interviews across video, phone and text
Alex, formerly Apriora, is one of the 6 rivals on Jobma's own compare menu. Its AI interviewer page says "Alex conducts a real-time, two-way conversation, asking follow-up questions", by video, phone or chat over SMS and WhatsApp. Its Identity product "checks a government ID against a live selfie during the interview".
Alex lists 33+ supported ATS integrations, and its Talent Match is about rediscovering people already in your ATS, so it doesn't search outside profiles. Pricing is by demo.
Pick it if your candidates are easier to reach by phone or text than by a video link, and fraud checks matter.
5. HeyMilo: best for staffing and BPO teams screening at volume
HeyMilo sells AI screening by resume, SMS, phone and video. Its AI video interview is described as "Two-way video interviews that follow your criteria", where "The AI listens, responds, and asks relevant follow-ups". HeyMilo Red adds cheat and identity-spoofing detection (see our guide to AI interview cheating detection), and its integrations include Workday, UKG and Bullhorn.
Its sourcing is "In-ATS Sourcing" that resurfaces people already in your ATS. The pricing URL redirects to a book-a-demo page, so expect a sales conversation.
Pick it if you run a staffing agency or BPO and want AI phone and video screens wired into Bullhorn or Workday.
6. Spark Hire: best for lean teams that want one-way and live video on a monthly plan
Spark Hire calls itself "Hiring Software for Lean Teams". Its video plans include "Unlimited live and one-way video interviews", 40+ ATS integrations, and Spark Hire AI, which summarizes each response and auto-scores submissions "against competencies". The site promises you can "Move faster without handing decisions to AI or chatbots".
The pricing page publishes video interview prices, monthly or annual, by company size; ATS plans are annual only. I found no AI interviewer, so it replaces Jobma's one-way and live formats, not its AI agent.
Pick it if you used Jobma mainly for one-way screens and want a published, monthly price. More one-way options sit in our one-way video interview software roundup.
7. Willo: best for one-way video without an annual contract
Willo does "Skill assessments and one-way interviews", with 1,500+ ready-made assessments, 18+ languages, identity checks through Willo Verified and 50+ native integrations. Like Spark Hire, it says it supports "faster shortlisting without handing decisions over to AI".
The pricing page has 2 routes. Lite is "No contract, pay as you go", charged per live role with the price shown. Enterprise is billed annually, with a tailored quote after a demo. Candidates record their answers, and I found no live AI conversation.
Pick it if you hire for a handful of roles a month and don't want an annual contract.
8. VidCruiter: best for structured live and recorded interviews with rating guides
VidCruiter is the closest to Jobma's breadth on the human side. It runs pre-recorded one-way interviews, live interviews in "Branded interview rooms with rating guides", scheduling, reference checks, skills testing and proctoring, with AI candidate screening and AI fraud detection on top.
Its AI interviewer is marked "COMING SOON" on the homepage, so today it doesn't replace Jobma's AI agent. The pricing page is a request form.
Pick it if you run panel interviews with rating guides on every round, for example in the public sector, which VidCruiter lists as an industry it serves.
9. Hireflix: best for the simplest one-way interview, with unlimited seats
Hireflix says it focuses on "one thing and one thing only", one-way video interviews. Candidates "do not need to download any apps or register anywhere", and invitations and reminders go out by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
The pricing page publishes monthly plans you can cancel any time and annual plans, each with unlimited seats, positions and responses, and "All plans include all features". It has no live interviews, no assessments and no AI scoring that I could find.
Pick it if Jobma felt like too much platform and you only ever sent recorded questions.
10. Truffle: best for small teams that want one-way answers ranked for them
Truffle calls itself "an AI screening platform for lean teams". You choose what each role is screened on, "resume criteria, one-way interview questions, assessments, or any mix", and it ranks applicants with the reasoning shown. Interviews are async, by video or audio.
Its pricing is usage-based credits, monthly or annual, with published prices and a free trial that needs no card. Nobody asks a follow-up. See our Truffle review.
Pick it if you hire high-volume roles on a small team and want applicants ranked before you watch any video.
Which Jobma alternatives run live, two-way AI interviews?
The Cognitive is the Jobma alternative to pick for a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes that checks the resume, in a self-serve account at a published price. TestGorilla also runs a self-serve AI interviewer that follows up. HireVue, Alex and HeyMilo do too, sold through a demo. Spark Hire, Willo, Hireflix and Truffle are recorded formats, and VidCruiter's AI interviewer is still coming. For the wider field, see our best AI interview platforms list and the async vs live AI interview guide.
What is the best one-way video interview alternative to Jobma?
Spark Hire is the closest one-way swap for Jobma, because it keeps both one-way and live interviews and publishes a monthly price. Willo suits a few roles a month, Hireflix is the plainest recorder, and Truffle ranks the answers for you.
A one-way video interview, also called an asynchronous or on-demand interview, sends candidates recorded questions they answer on their own time. Our one-way video interview software guide compares 12 tools, and video interview software platforms covers live tools too.
How does Jobma compare with HireVue, Spark Hire and Willo?
Jobma vs HireVue
Both sell one-way, live and AI interviews plus assessments, and both quote prices after a demo. HireVue brings annual independent audits and AI opt-out paths. Jobma's own compare page argues for faster implementation, live human support and assessment formats such as video, audio and game-based.
Jobma vs Spark Hire
Spark Hire is the simpler option to buy: one-way and live video on a published monthly plan, with AI that summarizes and scores recordings. Jobma adds an AI interviewer that follows up, panel interviews, coding challenges and skills tests, all quoted. Spark Hire also sells its own ATS, on annual contracts.
Jobma vs Willo
Willo is one-way video with 1,500+ assessments and a pay-as-you-go Lite plan. Jobma adds live panels and an AI interviewer, but every plan needs a quote. For recorded questions alone, Willo is easier to buy.
Jobma review: what it does well, and where it stops
I haven't used Jobma on a paid account, so this review comes from its own site, read on 4 October 2026. The breadth is real: one-way, live, panel and AI interviews, plus skills tests and a live coding room with 13 programming languages, in one product. A recruiter can step into a running AI interview and take it over. It holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001, has Android and iOS apps, and says it integrates with over 70 ATSs and HR tools.
The limits show up on the plans page. The AI interviewer and panels sit on Professional and Enterprise only, Starter has no live video or bulk invitations, and Growth gets 1 live session a month and 3 ATS connections. An unlisted ATS can be built "at a one-time cost". There's no search for new candidates.
How much does Jobma cost, and how do the alternatives charge?
Jobma sells 4 tiers, Starter, Growth, Professional and Enterprise, and every one says "Request Pricing" on its plans page. Plans are split by users, active positions, bulk invitation limits and ATS connections. Of the alternatives, Spark Hire, Hireflix, Truffle and TestGorilla publish prices, Willo publishes Lite only, and HireVue, Alex, HeyMilo and VidCruiter sell through a demo.
The Cognitive's AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month. A search costs 1 credit per candidate it returns, 5 to reveal an email and 10 to reveal a phone number, and a reveal is charged only when a value comes back.
Who is The Cognitive built for?
The Cognitive is built for in-house recruiters, founders and agency recruiters who want a live first-round interview handled by AI, and who sometimes need to find the candidates as well.
- Keep your ATS. The Cognitive writes the score, summary and report link back to candidates imported from it, across 60+ ATSs.
- Pair it with a one-way tool such as Spark Hire or Willo for very large applicant pools, or a test tool such as TestGorilla for marked coding tests.
- Agencies keep their client process. The read-only report link travels with each candidate you submit.
How do you test a Jobma alternative before you switch?
Take 1 open role that runs on Jobma today. Send the next 20 candidates through the alternative, then compare how many finished, how many you'd still want to meet, and the hours before a hiring manager saw a shortlist. The Cognitive has a free trial with 100 sourcing credits, so you can run that test on a real role.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Jobma alternative?
The Cognitive is the best Jobma alternative in 2026 if you want to find new candidates and interview them live with AI, in an account you can open at a published price. It searches ~900M public profiles and runs a two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes. TestGorilla is the closest rival on the same test, and Spark Hire is the closest swap if you only used Jobma for one-way video.
Is there a Jobma alternative with live two-way AI interviews?
Yes. The Cognitive runs a live, two-way AI video interview in 9 languages, where the rubric stays fixed and the questions adapt to each answer, and the report marks up to 5 resume claims VERIFIED, REFUTED or UNCLEAR. TestGorilla also runs AI interviews with follow-up questions, self-serve. HireVue, Alex and HeyMilo run two-way AI interviews too, sold through a demo.
Jobma vs HireVue: which is better?
HireVue is the better fit for large enterprises that need annual independent audits and AI opt-out paths, and Jobma suits teams that want one-way, live and AI interviews plus game-based and technical tests in one product. Both sell by quote after a demo. If you want a live AI interview without a sales cycle, The Cognitive publishes its prices.
Jobma vs Spark Hire: what's the difference?
Spark Hire is one-way and live video on a published monthly or annual plan, with AI that summarizes and scores recordings but no AI interviewer. Jobma adds an AI interviewer that asks follow-up questions, panel interviews, coding challenges and skills tests, all on quoted plans. The Cognitive adds the live AI interview Spark Hire lacks, at a published price.
Jobma vs Willo: which should I choose?
Choose Willo if you only need one-way video and want a pay-as-you-go plan with no contract, and Jobma if you need live panels and an AI interviewer. Willo has 1,500+ ready-made assessments and 18+ languages. Neither one searches for new candidates, which The Cognitive does across ~900M public profiles.
What is a good one-way video interview alternative to Jobma?
Spark Hire is the closest one-way video alternative to Jobma, because it keeps both one-way and live interviews on a published monthly plan. Willo suits occasional hiring with no contract, Hireflix is the simplest recorder with unlimited seats, and Truffle ranks the answers for you. The Cognitive has no one-way mode; it replaces recorded questions with a live AI conversation.
How much does Jobma cost?
Jobma doesn't publish prices: all 4 plans, Starter, Growth, Professional and Enterprise, say "Request Pricing". Plans differ by users, active positions, bulk invitations and ATS connections, and the AI interviewer is included only on Professional and Enterprise. The Cognitive's AI Interview starts at $99/month on a monthly plan.
Who are Jobma's main competitors?
Jobma's main competitors are HireVue, VidCruiter, Spark Hire, Willo, Glider AI and Alex, the 6 names on its own compare menu, plus HeyMilo, TestGorilla, Hireflix and Truffle. The Cognitive competes on the live AI interview and adds a search for new candidates across ~900M public profiles, which Jobma itself doesn't offer.
Is Jobma any good?
Jobma is a broad, well-certified video interview platform, judged from its own site: one-way, live, panel and AI interviews, skills tests, SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001, and a recruiter can take over an AI interview mid-way. Its limits are quote-only pricing, an AI interviewer reserved for the top 2 plans, and no search for new candidates. I have not used it on a paid account.
Is there a Jobma alternative I can try without a sales call?
Yes. The Cognitive has a free trial with 100 sourcing credits and monthly plans you can cancel anytime. TestGorilla has a free plan, Hireflix and Truffle offer free trials, and Spark Hire publishes monthly video plans. HireVue, Alex, HeyMilo and VidCruiter start with a demo.
