Teamtailor Alternatives in Europe: GDPR-Ready ATSs and the AI Layer That Works With Teamtailor
By Sparsh Goyal, Founder at The Cognitive. Published · Last updated
- Top picks: The Cognitive to add AI sourcing and live AI interviews to Teamtailor or its replacement, Tellent Recruitee for a like-for-like European switch, Workable for sourcing inside the ATS, Homerun for small teams, Personio for HR plus hiring.
- The Cognitive is the only tool here that searches outside your own database and runs a live, two-way AI video interview with the people it finds, in a self-serve account at a published price, and it connects to Teamtailor directly.
- Switch ATS if you need a visible price or HR in the same contract; pick JOIN for EU hosting and per-job pricing, Welcome to the Jungle for brand content made for you, Greenhouse for structured hiring at size.
- I run The Cognitive. The other 9 are judged from their own websites, read on 3 October 2026.
The best Teamtailor alternative in 2026 depends on what's missing: if it's candidates, keep Teamtailor and add The Cognitive, which connects to it directly, finds people across ~900M public profiles and interviews them live with AI. If Teamtailor itself is the problem, the strongest Teamtailor competitors for European teams are Tellent Recruitee, Workable and Homerun. Personio fits companies that want HR and hiring in one contract.
Teamtailor is very good at turning a careers site into applications. Gem's 2026 recruiting benchmarks found that job boards and company channels produce roughly 90% of applications but only about half of hires, while direct sourcing delivers 11% of hires from 2.6% of applications. A new ATS with a nicer careers page still only reaches people who visit that page.
The best Teamtailor alternatives in 2026
- The Cognitive: best overall, for adding AI sourcing and live AI interviews to Teamtailor or whatever replaces it.
- Tellent Recruitee: best like-for-like switch for European teams that want GDPR tooling built in.
- Workable: best for a replacement ATS with its own sourcing database.
- Homerun: best for small teams that want a branded careers page at a published price.
- Personio: best for companies that want HR and recruiting from one vendor.
- JOIN: best for paying per job, with EU hosting and wide job board reach.
- Welcome to the Jungle: best for employer brand content made for you, plus outbound sourcing.
- Pinpoint: best for running several hiring streams side by side.
- Ashby: best for scale-ups that want ATS, CRM and analytics in one system.
- Greenhouse: best for structured hiring in larger companies.
Full disclosure: I run The Cognitive, and it isn't an ATS. I put it first on a test you can rerun: it's the only tool on this list that searches outside your own database for people and runs a live, two-way AI video interview with them, in an account you can open without a sales call, at a published price. Numbers 2 to 10 are ATSs, ordered by how well each fits a typical Teamtailor buyer, a European company under 1,000 people that cares how its hiring looks to candidates. That order is my judgment. I haven't used the other 9 on a paid account. Everything I say about them comes from their own websites, read on 3 October 2026.
What is Teamtailor, and what does it do well?
Teamtailor is an applicant tracking system (ATS) and employer branding platform from Stockholm. Its homepage says more than 13,000 companies in over 90 countries use it, with 450+ integrations. The careers site editor is the centre of the product, with interview kits, scorecards, WhatsApp, multi-language hiring and video meetings around it.
The AI layer is called Co-pilot. Per Teamtailor's feature list, it writes job ads, summarises CVs, records and summarises video meetings, screens candidates against criteria you set and suggests people already in your talent pool. Sourcing outside that pool is a browser extension. There's no AI interviewer and no outside profile database.
It also ships GDPR features, including automatic removal of candidate data. Any alternative you shortlist should match that.
Why do teams look for Teamtailor alternatives?
I didn't read Teamtailor's reviews, so these reasons come from its own site and public hiring data:
- You can't see the price. The pricing page says "Let us give you a quote". No figure, no self-serve trial, just a demo booking.
- You want HR in the same system. Teamtailor describes its product in 4 stages: attract, engage, hire and onboard. Absence, time tracking and payroll prep sit in HR systems such as Personio, and Homerun HR handles holidays and sick leave.
- The careers site isn't producing the hard hires. Co-pilot searches people who already applied. A senior engineer in Berlin who isn't job hunting won't be in that pool.
- Screening takes the whole week. Ashby's 2026 Talent Trends data shows recruiters now process 291 applications per hire, up from roughly 100 in early 2021.
The first 2 are reasons to switch. The last 2 can be fixed without leaving Teamtailor.
How do the Teamtailor competitors compare?
Here is how they stack up. I filled in every cell from the vendor's own site on 3 October 2026:
| Tool | Best for | Finds people outside your database? | AI interview? | Pricing model (price published?) | GDPR or EU signal on its site |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Cognitive | Sourcing and interviewing, next to Teamtailor or any ATS | Yes, ~900M public profiles | Live two-way video, 9 languages | Monthly plans with credits (yes) | Not claimed here; ask before EU use |
| Tellent Recruitee | Like-for-like European switch | No; LinkedIn integration and ATS-database matching | No | 3 plans by demo or trial (no) | "Built in Europe", GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001 |
| Workable | Switching with sourcing built in | Yes, 400M+ profiles | No; one-way video add-on | By employee band (yes) | GDPR tools, ISO 27001 |
| Homerun | Small teams, branded careers page | No | No | By job slots, annual contract (yes, in euros and pounds) | EU VAT rules on pricing page |
| Personio | HR plus recruiting | No; posts to 800+ channels | No; AI screens applications | Quote by employee count, Recruiting as an add-on (no) | Not on the pages I read |
| JOIN | Paying per job | No; LinkedIn Chrome extension | No | Per job per month (yes) | EU data residency, EU hosting, ISO 27001 |
| Welcome to the Jungle | Brand content plus sourcing | Yes, beyond its own candidate base | No | Subscription plus job packages, quote (no) | Not on the pages I read |
| Pinpoint | Several hiring streams | No; sourcing extension | No; one-way video | Request pricing (no) | Not on the pages I read |
| Ashby | Scale-ups, analytics | No; Chrome extension and email lookups | No; AI Notetaker | By company size (figure for up to 100 employees) | GDPR retention rules |
| Greenhouse | Structured hiring at size | No | Two-way voice, not video | Demo for every plan (no) | Not on the pages I read |
Teamtailor's own row: browser extension, no AI interview, quote only, GDPR features. Every tool above is a direct integration for The Cognitive.
How did we rank these Teamtailor competitors?
I started with 10 tools that come up next to Teamtailor when European buyers compare: Tellent Recruitee, Personio, Workable, Homerun, JOIN, Pinpoint, Ashby, Greenhouse, Breezy HR and Welcome to the Jungle. I kept 9. Breezy HR is built around US small businesses, and we cover it on our Workable alternatives page.
The Cognitive is first on the 4-part test in the disclosure above. 3 tools pass part of it. Workable searches 400M+ profiles, but its video interview is one-way, per its features page. Welcome to the Jungle sources "beyond our registered candidate base" but has no AI interview and sells by quote. Greenhouse runs a two-way AI interview, but it's voice only and sold through a demo.
For the 9 ATSs, I judged careers site quality, GDPR tooling, published pricing and AI features. I couldn't test anything behind a paid login.
How do you choose a Teamtailor alternative?
Should you keep Teamtailor or switch?
Switch if you need visible pricing or HR in the same contract. Keep it if the complaint is who applies. Direct sourcing brings 11% of hires from 2.6% of applications in Gem's data, and no ATS here except Workable and Welcome to the Jungle searches outside its own pool. The Cognitive plugs into Teamtailor directly, so you can test sourcing on one hard role before you migrate anything.
Which alternatives are best for employer branding?
Homerun and Tellent Recruitee are the closest to Teamtailor's careers site. Homerun runs the page on your own domain without its badge, and Recruitee's Advance plan adds a multilingual, multi-page site. Welcome to the Jungle goes further and sells photo and video packages "produced by our studio team". All of this is recruitment marketing, so judge it by applications per role, not page views.
How much does GDPR tooling matter?
It matters more as the EU AI Act phases in. The European Commission lists CV-sorting software for recruitment as high-risk AI, with those rules applying from 2 December 2027. Our AI screening software compliance guide lists what that means for buyers. JOIN states EU data residency and EU primary hosting, and Recruitee says it was built in Europe with GDPR at its core.
Do you need AI sourcing, AI interviews, or both?
AI sourcing finds people who never applied, and an AI interview runs round 1 with whoever you choose. Workable covers the first, Greenhouse a voice version of the second. The Cognitive does both.
Teamtailor vs Recruitee vs Personio vs Workable vs Homerun
Teamtailor vs Tellent Recruitee
The closest pair on the list. Both are European and both sell by demo. Recruitee's Start plan caps you at 5 active job posts, and Advance removes the cap and adds an AI Screening Assistant. Teamtailor includes unlimited job postings and users. Pick Recruitee for a trial you can start without a card, and Teamtailor if the careers site is your main hiring channel.
Teamtailor vs Personio
Personio is an HR system first. Recruiting is an add-on app on top of its Core plans, priced by employee count, with a one-time setup fee. Teamtailor's careers site goes deeper. Pick Personio if you want one vendor for HR and hiring and you're within the 10 to 10,000 employees it says it serves.
Teamtailor vs Workable
Workable adds an outside database of 400M+ profiles on every plan, an AI agent that runs on credits and an HR suite, with prices published by employee band. Teamtailor has the stronger employer brand tools. Pick Workable if sourcing inside your ATS matters more than the careers page. If Workable is already on your list, our Workable alternatives guide shows what it is usually weighed against.
Teamtailor vs Homerun
Homerun is the smaller choice. It publishes euro and pound prices by job slot and adds holidays and sick leave. Teamtailor scales further, with unlimited jobs and 450+ integrations. Pick Homerun if you hire a few roles at a time and want HR basics in the same tool.
For Teamtailor vs Greenhouse, see our Greenhouse alternatives page.
The 10 best alternatives to Teamtailor, reviewed
1. The Cognitive: best overall, for adding AI sourcing and live AI interviews to Teamtailor or whatever replaces it
The Cognitive is AI recruiting software that sources candidates across ~900M public profiles and interviews them live with AI. Teamtailor is one of our 60+ ATS integrations, and so is every alternative on this page. So you can keep Teamtailor and add The Cognitive, or switch ATS and bring it with you.
You describe the role in plain English and it turns the brief into filters you can edit. I typed "Senior backend engineer with 5+ years of Go who has built payments systems, Remote EU", and it read "Remote EU" as Germany plus 7 other countries. Every person found is judged against your must-haves. Anyone who misses one drops below the people who meet them, and nobody is removed. Each result card opens with a "Why this match" line, such as "Go listed in skills".
Searching costs 1 credit per candidate a search returns, 5 to reveal an email and 10 to reveal a phone number. A reveal is charged only when a value comes back. On the Sourcing Pro plan you can run email and SMS sequences from platform mailboxes. SMS goes to the US and Canada by default, so for most European roles you'll lean on email.
For candidates imported from Teamtailor, The Cognitive writes a note back with the interview score, summary and report link. People you source inside The Cognitive aren't pushed into Teamtailor automatically. It isn't an ATS: no job posting, careers page or offers, and no search of your Teamtailor history.
Pick it if Teamtailor runs your process well but the people applying aren't the people you need. More on the AI sourcing tool page.
Keep Teamtailor and add the candidates it can't reach Describe the role in plain English, see who matches across ~900M public profiles, and interview the people you pick, live, with AI. Start free
2. Tellent Recruitee: best like-for-like switch for European teams that want GDPR tooling built in
Tellent Recruitee says 7,000+ companies use it and calls itself "Built in Europe, compliant globally", with GDPR, SOC 2 and ISO 27001. Its pricing page lists Start, Advance and Optimize. Advance and Optimize add an AI Screening Assistant and an AI Matching Assistant that searches your existing ATS database. You can start a free trial without a card.
The limit: no plan shows a price, agencies get a custom quote, and sourcing outside your database runs through a LinkedIn Recruiter integration.
Pick it if you want Teamtailor's feel with GDPR automation and a trial you can start today.
3. Workable: best for a replacement ATS with its own sourcing database
Workable says 35,000+ teams use it. Its sourcing searches 400M+ profiles and is "Included with all plans", and the Workable Agent sources, screens and messages candidates on AI credits. The pricing page is published by employee band and lists GDPR automation tools.
The limit: video interviews are one-way and a paid add-on on the Standard plan.
Pick it if you'd rather have sourcing inside the ATS than a careers site that does the selling.
4. Homerun: best for small teams that want a branded careers page at a published price
Homerun sells "Beautiful HR tools for modern teams" to 1000+ teams. Homerun HR adds holidays, sick leave and employee files to the ATS. Its pricing is published in euros and pounds, by job slot.
The limit: Core and Plus need a yearly commitment, and I found no AI features on the pages I read.
Pick it if you hire 3 to 10 roles at a time and want the careers page to look as good as Teamtailor's.
5. Personio: best for companies that want HR and recruiting from one vendor
Personio Recruiting promises to "Hire faster with AI" and says over 16,000 growing companies use Personio. It posts roles to 800+ channels and uses an AI talent screening agent on applications.
The limit: Recruiting is an add-on to an HR plan, priced by quote, with a 12-month minimum on yearly contracts and a one-time setup fee, per its pricing page.
Pick it if you already need an HR system and want hiring to live in it.
6. JOIN: best for paying per job, with EU hosting and wide job board reach
JOIN calls itself "The all-in-one ATS for SMB hiring" and says 20,000+ companies use it. It posts to 10+ organic boards and 250+ paid ones, and it states EU data residency, EU primary hosting and ISO 27001. Its pricing is published per job per month, with unlimited users and a 14-day trial.
The limit: Standard and Advanced cap you at 15 active jobs, and sourcing means saving LinkedIn profiles one at a time with a Chrome extension.
Pick it if you hire in bursts and want to pay only for the roles that are open.
7. Welcome to the Jungle: best for employer brand content made for you, plus outbound sourcing
Welcome to the Jungle sells a Hiring Suite of 4 products: Employer Brand, Job Matching, Sourcing and an ATS, used by 4,500+ companies. Its sourcing goes beyond its own candidate base, with search by job spec, AI search and lookalike profiles.
The limit: pricing is a tailored quote built from a subscription plus job packages, and there's no AI interview.
Pick it if you want someone else to film and write your employer brand, and your candidates already browse the site.
8. Pinpoint: best for running several hiring streams side by side
Pinpoint calls itself "The ATS built for multi-stream hiring", giving each brand, location or stream its own workflows, branding and permissions. It lists one-way video interviews, an AI match score and over 100 native integrations.
The limit: there's no price on the site, only "Request pricing", and sourcing is an extension.
Pick it if you hire shop staff and head office roles at once and need them kept apart.
9. Ashby: best for scale-ups that want ATS, CRM and analytics in one system
Ashby bundles an ATS, CRM and sourcing, scheduling and analytics. Its pricing page shows a figure for the Foundations plan, for companies up to 100 employees, and lists a sourcing Chrome extension, sequences over email and LinkedIn InMail and GDPR retention rules.
The limit: from 101 employees it's "Get in Touch", and there's no AI interviewer or outside profile database.
Pick it if recruiting data drives your decisions and your team runs its own outreach. More on our Ashby alternatives page.
10. Greenhouse: best for structured hiring in larger companies
Greenhouse sells Core, Plus and Pro, and Core already includes structured interview kits and scorecards, an AI Notetaker and sourcing and CRM. Its Voice AI runs a two-way voice interview on the candidate's schedule, with dynamic follow-up questions.
The limit: every plan goes through a demo, and Voice AI is audio, not video. Our guide to Greenhouse pricing explains how the 3 tiers are quoted.
Pick it if you're past 1,000 people and need governance more than a pretty careers page.
What's the best Teamtailor alternative for European companies?
For most European companies it's Tellent Recruitee, because it matches Teamtailor's careers site and puts GDPR, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 on its homepage. JOIN is the pick if EU hosting is a hard requirement. Homerun suits small teams that want euro pricing they can read before a call.
Whatever you pick, get the data storage location and retention rules in writing. I won't make GDPR claims for The Cognitive on this page. If you plan to source or interview EU candidates with any AI tool, including ours, have your data protection officer review it first.
Which Teamtailor alternatives have AI sourcing and AI interviews?
Teamtailor has neither. Co-pilot screens people who already applied, and its video meetings need a human on the call.
Among the 9 alternatives, Workable and Welcome to the Jungle search outside their own pool. Greenhouse is the one that lists a two-way AI interviewer on the pages I read, and it's voice only. Workable and Pinpoint offer one-way video.
The Cognitive runs a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes, in any of 9 languages, with people you sourced or imported from Teamtailor. Candidates book their own slot without creating an account, and the invitation tells them the interview is run by AI. The rubric stays fixed for the role while the questions adapt to each answer. You get a 1 to 5 score per criterion, overall written feedback, a weighted score out of 100, a suggested verdict, the transcript and the recording. Nothing is rejected automatically, and integrity flags are logged, not scored.
The 5-minute recording above is a live AI interview for a go-to-market role. The AI asks the candidate about an outbound email campaign, then follows up on reply rates and how leads were qualified. More on the AI interviewer page.
How much does Teamtailor cost?
Teamtailor doesn't publish a price. Its pricing page says "Let us give you a quote" and promises unlimited job postings and unlimited users, support for all users and over 250 features. It shows no free trial, so the route in is a demo. For what similar tools charge and how, see our breakdown of ATS pricing models.
The alternatives use 4 pricing models:
- Published: Workable by employee band, Homerun by job slot, JOIN per job per month.
- Published for small companies, quote above: Ashby.
- Quote or demo: Tellent Recruitee, Personio, Welcome to the Jungle, Pinpoint and Greenhouse.
- Monthly plans with credits: The Cognitive.
The Cognitive's AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month, on monthly plans you can cancel anytime. It's a cost on top of Teamtailor. Full details are on our pricing page.
How do you move off Teamtailor safely?
Export candidates, jobs, templates and consent records first, and check the new ATS can import consent dates so your retention rules keep working. Keep Teamtailor live until the new system has handled one full hire. If the shortlist is the real issue, connect The Cognitive to Teamtailor through our integrations before you move. Our small-business ATS guide covers the switch in more detail, and the full list of applicant tracking systems covers every option we track.
The Cognitive has a free trial with 100 sourcing credits.
Who is The Cognitive built for?
We built The Cognitive for in-house recruiters and founders whose hardest roles need people who aren't applying. You read an interview report before anyone on your team spends an hour, and a read-only link carries the scores, written feedback and recording to the hiring manager.
- Keep Teamtailor. Import candidates from it, interview them with AI, and the score, summary and report link come back to their Teamtailor record.
- Switch to Tellent Recruitee, Workable, Homerun, Personio or JOIN. Each is a direct integration, so your sourcing and interviews move with you.
- Pair it with Teamtailor's interview kits. Let the AI interview handle round 1 and keep your kits and scorecards for the rounds your team runs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best alternative to Teamtailor?
The best Teamtailor alternative depends on what's broken: if it's the candidates, keep Teamtailor and add The Cognitive; if it's the ATS, look at Tellent Recruitee, Workable or Homerun. The Cognitive connects to Teamtailor directly, searches ~900M public profiles and runs a live, two-way AI video interview with the people you pick. Recruitee is the closest European match, Workable adds a 400M+ profile database inside the ATS, and Homerun publishes its prices.
What is the best Teamtailor alternative for European companies?
Tellent Recruitee is the best Teamtailor alternative for most European companies, because it matches Teamtailor's careers site and says it was built in Europe with GDPR, SOC 2 and ISO 27001. JOIN states EU data residency and EU primary hosting and charges per job. Personio suits companies that want HR and recruiting together. The Cognitive works next to any of them for sourcing and AI interviews, and its brief reader turns "Remote EU" into a list of countries you can edit.
How much does Teamtailor cost?
Teamtailor doesn't publish a price; its pricing page says "Let us give you a quote". Every plan includes unlimited job postings and unlimited users, support for all users and over 250 features. The site shows no self-serve free trial, so you book a demo to get a number.
Teamtailor vs Recruitee: which is better?
Teamtailor is better if your careers site is your main hiring channel, and Tellent Recruitee is better if you want GDPR automation and a free trial without a card. Both are European and sell by demo. Recruitee's Start plan caps you at 5 active job posts, while Teamtailor includes unlimited job postings. The Cognitive connects to both directly.
Teamtailor vs Personio vs Workable: which should I pick?
Pick Personio if you want HR and recruiting from one vendor, Workable if you want sourcing inside the ATS, and Teamtailor if employer branding matters most. Personio sells Recruiting as an add-on to its HR plans by quote. Workable publishes prices by employee band and searches 400M+ profiles on every plan. The Cognitive integrates with all 3.
Teamtailor vs Homerun: what's the difference?
Homerun is the smaller option and easier to price, with euro and pound prices published by job slot and a 15-day trial with no card. Its Core and Plus plans need an annual contract, and it adds holidays, sick leave and employee files. Teamtailor sells by quote, includes unlimited jobs and lists 450+ integrations.
Is there a Teamtailor alternative with AI sourcing and AI interviews?
Yes. The Cognitive searches ~900M public profiles from a plain-English brief and runs a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes in 9 languages, and it works with Teamtailor instead of replacing it. Among ATS alternatives, Workable sources from 400M+ profiles but its video interview is one-way, and Greenhouse's Voice AI runs a two-way interview by voice only.
Which ATS is best for employer branding besides Teamtailor?
Homerun and Tellent Recruitee are the closest to Teamtailor for employer branding. Homerun lets you run the careers page on your own domain without its badge, and Recruitee's Advance plan adds a multilingual, multi-page careers site. Welcome to the Jungle goes further and sells photo and video content made by its own studio team.
Does The Cognitive integrate with Teamtailor?
Yes. Teamtailor is one of The Cognitive's direct integrations among 60+ ATS integrations. For candidates imported from Teamtailor, it writes a note back with the interview score, summary and report link. People you source inside The Cognitive aren't pushed into Teamtailor automatically.
