Greenhouse pricing, plan by plan, and what drives your quote

Greenhouse pricing is not published. Core, Plus and Pro are each quoted after a demo, and Greenhouse says the price turns on the plan, your hiring volume, organizational complexity and the features you need. Voice AI is a separate annual subscription priced on headcount. The Cognitive, which connects to Greenhouse, publishes its monthly prices.

Greenhouse pricing at a glance, checked 4 October 2026

Greenhouse prints no price for any plan. Core, Plus and Pro each end in a Get a demo button, and its pricing FAQ says the price is customized to your hiring needs. Plan, hiring volume, organizational complexity and features set the number.

What drives a Greenhouse quote

Greenhouse names the first 4 itself. The 5th comes from its Voice AI and services pages. Put a number against each before the demo, so the quote has to answer to your figures.

  1. The plan tier Core, Plus or Pro. Greenhouse frames the choice as how much structure, automation and governance your hiring needs. Texting, email automation and fraud detection start at Plus, and the audit log starts at Pro.
  2. Your hiring volume Greenhouse lists hiring volume as a cost driver on its pricing FAQ. Bring your planned hires and open roles for the next 12 months, not last year's total.
  3. Organizational complexity Plus is pitched at teams adding locations or brands, and Pro at regions and business units. Each extra entity or job board you describe in the demo pushes toward a higher tier.
  4. The features your workflow needs Greenhouse's own wording is the features and capabilities required to support your workflows. One must-have, such as multi-brand job boards or a BI connector, can decide the tier on its own.
  5. Products and services outside the plan Voice AI is priced as a standalone product on headcount. Data migration and custom HCM integrations come from Professional Services. None of these appear on the plan grid. Ask for each as its own line, so the plan price stays visible.

Which Greenhouse plan you actually need

Core already covers what most teams buy an ATS for. It has sourcing and CRM, structured interview kits, scorecards, scheduling with candidate self-scheduling, the AI Notetaker, e-signature and custom reports. A single company hiring under one brand can usually stop here.

Plus earns its quote when you need texting and email automation for candidate outreach, auto-reject and auto-advance rules, or fraud detection with CLEAR ID verification. It is also the tier for multi-brand job boards.

Greenhouse Pro is a governance purchase. Buy it for the audit log, a developer sandbox, resume anonymization, configurable session time-outs and application limits. If nobody in security or procurement has asked for those, Pro is probably more than you need. Greenhouse says you can upgrade at any time.

Greenhouse add-ons and extras that sit outside the plan

These are the lines that turn a plan quote into a full Greenhouse ATS cost. Only Voice AI has a published pricing model.

The contract term nobody prints

The Core, Plus and Pro pricing page states no contract length. The Voice AI page does: customers typically start on a 12-month or longer contract, with any pilot run as an opt-out window inside that annual agreement.

Greenhouse ATS cost: the hidden lines to ask about

None of these is a trap. They are simply absent from the pricing page, so they only show up if you ask.

How to negotiate a Greenhouse quote

Do

Do not

Work out your first-year Greenhouse cost

Our method, not Greenhouse's. Every input is either a line on your quote or a number you already know.

1. Plan = the subscription on your quote for Core, Plus or Pro, for the full term.

2. Add-ons = Voice AI (headcount based) + Greenhouse Onboarding, if quoted.

3. One-off services = implementation, if billed + data migration + any custom HCM integration.

4. Partner tools = each third-party tool your process depends on.

5. Year-one cost = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4.

6. Cost per hire from the ATS = year-one cost / hires planned this year.

7. Year-two cost = 1 + 2 + 4, adjusted for any renewal change you agreed in writing.

Run lines 6 and 7 for every ATS you shortlist. A lower year-one figure with a heavy services line can cost more by year two.

Greenhouse vs cheaper ATS options, by pricing model

Greenhouse software pricing sits at the quote-only end. These 4 are where buyers usually look next. Pricing models only, read on each vendor's own pricing page on 4 October 2026.

When Greenhouse is worth the price, and when it is not

Greenhouse says more than 7,500 companies use it, and its pitch is structured hiring with heavy governance. That earns its quote when many hiring managers run interview kits and scorecards, legal wants an audit log, and recruiting spans several brands or regions.

A 30-person company hiring 10 people a year is in a different spot. It mostly needs a place to post jobs and track candidates. Workable and JazzHR let you see the price before a call, and Ashby's Foundations plan does the same up to 100 employees. Our Greenhouse alternatives guide, linked below, ranks the options in full.

Sourcing that fills Greenhouse instead of replacing it

A plain-English brief read into editable filters, then searched across ~900M public profiles.

An ATS tracks the people who apply. It does not find the people who have not. The Cognitive searches public profiles from a plain-English brief, judges everyone against your must-haves and says on each card why they matched. Verified emails and phone numbers can be revealed, enriched from 30+ sources.

Where The Cognitive fits next to Greenhouse

I run The Cognitive, so weigh this section with that in mind. It is not an ATS and does not replace Greenhouse. It connects to Greenhouse through one of 60+ ATS integrations. You pick a Greenhouse stage, and the active candidates in it are imported. After an AI interview, a note with the score, a summary and the report link goes back to that candidate. Their stage never moves.

People you source inside The Cognitive are not written into Greenhouse automatically. The interview is a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes in 9 languages, booked by the candidate. The invitation tells candidates it is run by AI. The rubric is fixed per role and the questions adapt live.

No demo is needed for any of it. You sign up at https://app.thecognitive.io/signup without talking to sales. AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month, on monthly plans you can cancel anytime.

The report behind the note Greenhouse receives

A 1 to 5 score per criterion, a weighted score out of 100 and a suggested verdict.

The note written back to an imported Greenhouse candidate carries the score, a summary and a link to this report. The report itself holds the criterion scores, overall written feedback, the transcript and the recording. Nothing is rejected automatically, and the candidate's Greenhouse stage stays where your team left it.

Greenhouse pricing in short

Frequently asked questions

How much does Greenhouse cost?

Greenhouse does not publish a price for any plan. Its pricing page says Greenhouse pricing is customized to your hiring needs, and that the cost depends on the plan you choose (Core, Plus or Pro), your hiring volume, your organizational complexity and the features your workflows need. Every plan leads to a demo, so the only way to learn how much the Greenhouse ATS costs for you is a quote. Add-ons such as Voice AI and services such as data migration are priced separately.

Does Greenhouse publish its pricing?

No. Greenhouse publishes what each plan includes, down to a full feature grid, but no price. Each of the 3 plans ends in a Get a demo button, and the pricing FAQ says a Greenhouse expert provides custom pricing. The one published pricing model on greenhouse.com is for Voice AI, which is an annual subscription based on company or team headcount.

What is the difference between Greenhouse Core, Plus and Pro?

Core is the full ATS, Plus adds outreach and automation, and Pro adds governance. Core includes sourcing and CRM, interview kits, scorecards, scheduling, the AI Notetaker, reporting and SSO. Plus adds texting, email automation, contact lookups, auto-reject and auto-advance, the BI Connector, fraud detection and CLEAR ID verification. Pro adds the audit log, a developer sandbox, resume anonymization and enterprise-level data security.

What is included in Greenhouse Pro?

Greenhouse Pro includes everything in Plus, and adds the governance and security tools larger organizations ask for. Greenhouse lists unlimited CRM events, enterprise-level data configuration and security, an audit log, a developer sandbox with sync, resume anonymization, application limits and configurable session time-outs. Greenhouse pitches it at teams hiring across regions and business units. Its price, like every Greenhouse plan, is quoted after a demo.

How is Greenhouse Voice AI priced?

Voice AI is sold as a standalone annual subscription based on company or scoped team headcount, not per seat. Greenhouse says it includes a fair-use allowance of interviews sized to your expected volume. Customers typically start on a contract of 12 months or more, and any pilot runs as an opt-out window on that annual agreement. It is sold through a demo, with no price on the page.

Does Greenhouse require an annual contract?

Greenhouse's pricing page states no contract term for Core, Plus or Pro, so ask for it in writing. Its Voice AI page is clearer: customers typically start on a 12-month or longer contract, with any pilot set up as an opt-out window inside the annual agreement. Before you sign, ask for the term, the renewal notice period and what happens if hiring volume changes mid-contract.

Does Greenhouse charge for implementation or data migration?

Greenhouse does not say whether implementation is billed. Its customer success page lists Implementation Consultants in its Account Services team. Data migration from your old ATS and custom HCM integrations are offered by Professional Services as additional services, with no price published. Ask for each one as its own line on the quote, with the scope written down.

Can you negotiate Greenhouse pricing?

Yes. Every Greenhouse plan is custom quoted, so the price is set in a conversation rather than read off a list. Bring a written 12-month hiring plan, ask for the plan, add-ons and services as separate lines, and get competing quotes from Ashby and Lever. Workable and JazzHR publish their prices, which gives you a public reference point. Lock any future upgrade price into the first contract.

What is a cheaper alternative to Greenhouse?

Workable, JazzHR and Ashby's Foundations plan are the usual cheaper Greenhouse alternatives, because each shows a price before a sales call. Workable prices by employee band and offers a 15-day free trial. JazzHR prints prices for 3 plans, though not for agencies or companies over 250 employees. Ashby shows Foundations pricing up to 100 employees. If your gap is candidates rather than the ATS, The Cognitive adds sourcing and AI interviews at published prices next to Greenhouse.

Does The Cognitive work with Greenhouse?

Yes. The Cognitive connects to Greenhouse through one of its 60+ ATS integrations. You choose a Greenhouse stage and its active candidates are imported. After the AI interview, a note with the score, a summary and the report link goes back to that candidate, and their stage never moves. People you source inside The Cognitive are not written into Greenhouse automatically. AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month.
