Structured Interview Kit Generator
A structured interview kit is everything a panel needs to run the same interview for every candidate and score it the same way: the competencies the role is hired on, the questions that probe each one, the anchors that say what a 1 and a 5 sound like, and a scorecard to record evidence against. Describe a role and this builds all four from one competency list. Free, no signup.
What is a structured interview?
A structured interview asks every candidate for a role the same core questions and scores them against the same written standard. The alternative is not a relaxed conversation, it is an unrepeatable one: the same candidate gets different verdicts from different panels, and the debrief turns on who remembers what.
Why must the four parts be built together?
Because separately they drift. Generate questions on Monday and a scorecard on Thursday and the scorecard scores competencies the questions never asked about, which is how a panel ends up rating "communication" off a system design answer. One competency list drives the questions, the anchors and the scorecard here, so a score always points at something that was actually asked.
What makes a scoring anchor useful?
An anchor describes observable behaviour, not a quality. "Walked through a rollback they ran and what they changed afterwards" is an anchor. "Shows ownership" is an adjective, and two interviewers will apply it differently. Anchors are what let a 4 mean the same thing to everyone in the room.
Does the rubric mean every interview is identical?
The rubric is fixed; the conversation is not. The competencies, the core questions and the scoring standard stay the same for every candidate for that role, which is what makes candidates comparable. What changes is the follow-up, which depends on what the person in front of you actually says.
