VidCruiter Pricing 2026: Costs, Modules and Alternatives
By Sparsh Goyal, Founder at The Cognitive. Published · Last updated
- VidCruiter publishes no prices and offers custom pricing based on the modules you select and your hiring volume.
- The quote moves with modules, interview volume, AI features added to the order form, integrations, implementation and compliance needs.
- The Cognitive, Spark Hire, Willo and Hireflix publish their prices, while HireVue also quotes every deal.
VidCruiter does not publish its prices. Its pricing page is a "Request Pricing" form, and VidCruiter says it "offers custom pricing based on the modules you select and your organization's hiring volume." Its site shows no plan names, seat counts or VidCruiter prices, and offers no free trial or self-serve signup.
So the number arrives in a quote, after a form or a demo. What goes into that quote is visible, though: nine modules listed on the form, AI features switched on one at a time in the order form, integrations and implementation. If you want a price you can read before you talk to sales, The Cognitive, Spark Hire, Willo and Hireflix publish theirs. HireVue, like VidCruiter, quotes every deal.
What is VidCruiter?
VidCruiter is Canadian video interviewing and recruiting software for live interviews run by your own interviewers and for pre-recorded (one-way) interviews, with structured interview guides, scheduling and optional AI. In its own words, it combines "live video interviews, pre-recorded (one-way) video interviews, and structured interviewing workflows in a single recruitment platform."
Its homepage calls it "AI Recruiting Software" for "enterprise and high-volume interviews", and VidCruiter says over 150,000 recruiters use it. The company grew out of a 2009 hiring project run by its CEO, Sean Fahey, and it is owned and operated in Canada. Logos on its pricing page include Samsung, Bridgestone, UPS, Lindt and US Foods.
Its own fit statement is direct: VidCruiter "is designed for enterprise HR, government, and healthcare teams requiring compliance and structured rubrics." Buyers with compliance checklists usually need a configured setup, which is why VidCruiter quotes each deal.
Candidates meet VidCruiter as either a recorded interview or a live one with the employer's team. If you are preparing for one, start with these video interview tips and common video interview questions.
How much does VidCruiter cost?
VidCruiter's pricing page tells you what you can buy, not what it costs. It lists the solutions a quote can cover, then asks for your first and last name, work email, company name, phone number and a message, all required. There is no starting price, no calculator and no per-seat or per-interview rate.
VidCruiter's video interviewing page adds: "You pay only for the capabilities your team uses." Its FAQ gives the next step: "Contact VidCruiter for a quote." The applicant tracking page says the same of the ATS: "VidCruiter uses custom pricing based on your needs."
VidCruiter says every client gets a dedicated implementation team and 24/7 live support, and its demo page also lists a dedicated account manager and unlimited training. Ask whether these are in the base price or billed as extras.
Two VidCruiter customers can pay very different amounts. A team buying live interviews and scheduling is a different deal from a team buying pre-recorded interviews, AI screening, reference checks, proctoring and the ATS. Price the modules you will use in the first year, not the full list.
What can you buy from VidCruiter?
The pricing form lists nine solutions. VidCruiter's product pages add the AI features. Every line is quote only.
| Module | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pre-Recorded Video Interviews | Candidates answer set questions on their own schedule; the team reviews later |
| Live Video Interviews | Two-way interviews with your interviewers; panel, group and MMI formats; recorded and transcribed |
| AI Candidate Screening | Scores recorded answers 1 to 5 against client-approved rubrics, with a written rationale |
| AI Notes, Summaries and Transcripts | Notes, summaries and searchable transcripts in English and French |
| Interview Scheduling | Candidates book, reschedule and cancel against synced calendars |
| Structured Interviews | Interview guides and rating scales |
| Automated References | Reference checks sent and collected online |
| Skills Testing and Video Proctoring | Tests, with proctoring while candidates take them |
| Virtual Hiring Events | Online hiring events |
| Applicant Tracking System | VidCruiter's recruitment suite |
Integrations are part of the build too. VidCruiter's directory shows live connections to Dayforce, ADP, Oracle, UKG Pro and UKG Ready, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Certn and Bryq, and its AI screening page also names Greenhouse, iCIMS and Lever. An API is available for custom integrations.

What drives the price of a VidCruiter quote?
VidCruiter names most of its cost drivers itself. Six of them move the number.
- Modules. Each solution on the form is a separate line. Pre-recorded interviews alone and a full suite with the ATS are different contracts.
- Hiring volume. VidCruiter prices on it directly. Volume has grown: Ashby's 2026 Talent Trends Report puts the average at 291 applications per hire, up from roughly 100 in early 2021. Bring your real interview count, not your headcount plan.
- AI features. VidCruiter's AI statement says scoring and ranking features are "Available where identified in the client's order form" and are "enabled with client approval on a per-feature basis". AI screening is something you add to the order, not something every plan includes.
- Integrations. An HRIS or ATS connection, SSO and calendar sync each add setup work.
- Implementation. VidCruiter says simple deployments "can go live in days", while enterprise deployments with ATS or HRIS integration, SSO and multi-region rollouts "typically take weeks".
- Compliance. VidCruiter lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 certification, plus GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA, a VPAT and WCAG 2.2 AA. If your procurement team needs any of these, they are a reason to buy VidCruiter, and they shape what you sign.
Questions to ask before you sign
Six questions turn a VidCruiter quote into something you can compare.
- Which modules does this quote include, and what does each one cost on its own?
- What hiring or interview volume is the price built on, and what happens above it?
- Which AI features are on the order form, and can they be added or removed during the term?
- Is implementation priced separately, and how long will the rollout take?
- Which of your systems connect out of the box, and which need the API?
- How long is the contract, does it renew automatically, and how much notice ends it? VidCruiter's site does not state its contract terms.
How does VidCruiter use AI in its interviews?
At VidCruiter, people run the live interviews and AI supports them. VidCruiter defines a live video interview as "a real-time, two-way interview conducted online between a candidate and one or more interviewers." Every interview is recorded, transcribed and logged, and VidCruiter says its AI features "can be toggled on or off with a single click."
The AI does four main jobs, alongside translation and interview guide drafting. It scores pre-recorded answers from 1 to 5 against rubrics the client approves, with a written rationale for each score, and hiring managers can review, adjust or override any result.
It also takes notes and writes summaries and transcripts. It watches for impersonation, outside help and pre-scripted answers. And it coaches the human interviewer with feedback after the interview. VidCruiter says facial expressions, speech patterns and vocal tone "are never analyzed".
VidCruiter's published list of current AI functions does not include an AI that conducts the interview itself. Its site does list an "AI Interviewer" as coming soon, described as "agentic hiring that runs full candidate interviews on its own", with no release date or price. Its about page states the view behind today's product: "We believe there will always be a place for humans within HR." It suits teams that want every live conversation led by a trained interviewer, with structured interview guides and a record of each one.
VidCruiter alternatives by pricing model
Most buyers looking past VidCruiter want one of two things: a price they can see, or a different kind of interview. The table sorts five alternatives by both.
The Cognitive comes first because it pairs a published plan price with a live two-way AI video interview. HireVue sells a voice-based AI Interviewer but publishes no prices, and Spark Hire, Willo and Hireflix publish prices for video interviews that your own team reviews or runs. The others follow by how close they come to that pair.
The Cognitive publishes this page and appears in it.
| Tool | Interview format | Pricing model | Price on website? |
|---|---|---|---|
| VidCruiter | Live (human) and pre-recorded | Quote by modules and volume | No |
| The Cognitive | Live two-way AI video | Monthly or yearly plans; Enterprise custom | Yes, except Enterprise |
| HireVue | Voice-based AI Interviewer; video interviews | Custom quote | No |
| Spark Hire | One-way and live video | ATS plans annual; video monthly or annual | Yes |
| Willo | One-way video | Annual plan, or pay as you go per live role | Yes |
| Hireflix | One-way video | Monthly or annual plans, plus custom | Yes |
1. The Cognitive: best for a live AI first interview with a published price
The Cognitive runs the first interview itself, live on video, and it also finds the people to interview.
The search comes first. Recruiters start with a plain-English description of the role; The Cognitive's AI sourcing then returns people from about 900M public profiles, many of whom never applied, each with a short reason for the match. On the Sourcing Team plan and on Sourcing Pro and above, personal emails go out from the recruiter's own mailbox, and follow-ups stop when the person replies.
Each AI interview runs live on video for 10 or 20 minutes, in any of 9 languages, with the candidate on camera. The AI interviewer asks role questions and follows up on the answers, while the rubric stays fixed for every candidate.
The recruiter gets a scorecard against the role's criteria, with the recording and the transcript, and cheat detection flags possible cheating. Interviews run in a laptop or desktop browser. On higher Interview plans, The Cognitive connects with 100+ ATS.
An AI interview scorecard with a score per criterion and the CV claims checked.
Best for: recruiters and TA teams who want to find candidates and see a scored first interview without waiting on a quote.
Watch out for: no one-way recorded interviews, no panel or MMI formats with human interviewers, and no reference checks, skills tests or proctoring. Interviews do not run on phones, and no SOC 2 or ISO certificates are claimed.
Pricing model: monthly or yearly plans, with 17% off yearly, listed on the pricing page; Enterprise is custom. AI Sourcing and AI Interviews are separate plans. Plans start at $99 a month. A 20-minute interview uses 100 interview credits.
2. HireVue: best for AI screening interviews and assessments
HireVue sells an AI Interviewer for "24/7 AI screening interviews", along with video interviewing and assessments. It is the closest match to VidCruiter on how it sells: its pricing page shows no prices and sends buyers to a demo request, so you compare two quotes, not two price lists. More in the HireVue review and the HireVue alternatives guide.
Pricing model: custom quote; no price on the website.
Watch out for: no prices on its website, and its AI Interviewer is voice-based rather than video.
3. Spark Hire: best for lean teams that want an ATS with one-way video
Spark Hire calls itself "Hiring Software for Lean Teams" and pairs an applicant tracking system with AI-enabled one-way video interviews, and its video plans include live interviews too. Prices are on its site. Spark Hire says its Recruit (ATS) plans "are only available under an annual contract", while its video interview software can be bought month to month or annually. A head-to-head is in The Cognitive vs Spark Hire.
Pricing model: published plans; ATS plans annual, video interviews monthly or annual.
Watch out for: its ATS plans need an annual contract.
4. Willo: best for async screening at scale
Willo runs asynchronous video interviews under the line "Screen at Scale. Shortlist with Confidence." It offers two ways to pay: an annual plan, billed annually and payable monthly or quarterly, or pay as you go for each live role in a month with no contract, which suits a team with one or two openings at a time.
Pricing model: published annual plan, or pay per live role with no contract.
Watch out for: built for one-way screening before your live interviews, not for running live ones.
5. Hireflix: best for simple one-way interviews
Hireflix describes itself as "one-way video interview software" and keeps to that one job. It publishes monthly and annual plans, offers a custom tier above them and lets new teams try it free for a month.
Pricing model: published monthly or annual plans plus a custom tier.
Watch out for: one-way interviews only.
For a longer list, see the video interview software platforms guide, the one-way video interview software list and the best AI interview platforms.
If you are still deciding between recorded and live formats, async vs live AI interviews sets out the trade-off, and how much AI interview software costs covers the pricing models across the category.
Is VidCruiter worth it?
VidCruiter is worth it for organizations that need many interview formats, human interviewers on every live call and a compliance file procurement will accept. Panel, group and MMI interviews, reference checks, proctored tests, an ATS and SOC 2 and ISO certificates all come from one vendor, with 24/7 support and an implementation team. VidCruiter also says it "supports any language you need".
It fits less well for small teams, and VidCruiter says so itself. Its video interviewing page tells small businesses "looking for a basic, unrated video recording app" to check out "lighter alternatives". Its FAQ adds that smaller teams wanting only one-way interviews "may find simpler tools more cost-effective." The other costs are time and visibility: no price until the form is in, and weeks of rollout for an enterprise deployment.
When to skip The Cognitive
Pick VidCruiter, not The Cognitive, if your process needs one-way recorded interviews or live panels and MMIs led by your own interviewers. The same applies to reference checks, skills tests, proctoring, virtual hiring events and interviews on a phone. It also fits better if your security review requires SOC 2 or ISO certification from every vendor. The Cognitive covers the search and a live AI first round. VidCruiter covers the interview programme around human interviewers.
How to start
Write down the modules you need in year one, your real interview volume and the systems the tool must connect to. Then ask VidCruiter for a quote on exactly that, with the contract term and renewal notice in writing. If you want to compare it with something you can try today, describe one open role in The Cognitive, see who exists for it and run a live AI first interview. The 7-day trial needs no card. How much does VidCruiter cost?

What is a VidCruiter interview like for candidates?
A VidCruiter interview is either a pre-recorded interview you answer on your own schedule or a live video interview with one or more people from the employer. For live interviews, VidCruiter says candidates join from any device through a one-click link sent by email or SMS, and every interview is recorded and transcribed. Treat it like any structured interview: test your camera and sound, prepare short examples, and answer the question asked.
Does VidCruiter use AI to interview candidates?
Not today. VidCruiter's live interviews are run by people, and its AI supports them; its site lists an AI Interviewer that runs full interviews as coming soon. The AI scores pre-recorded answers from 1 to 5 against client-approved rubrics with a written rationale, takes notes and transcripts, flags possible fraud and gives feedback to human interviewers. VidCruiter says these features are enabled per feature, with client approval, on the order form.
Is VidCruiter cheaper than HireVue?
There is no way to tell from their websites, because neither VidCruiter nor HireVue publishes a price. Both quote each deal; VidCruiter says its quote depends on the modules you pick and your hiring volume. Ask both for a quote on the same modules and interview count, with implementation and contract terms in writing, and compare those.
How long does it take to set up VidCruiter?
VidCruiter says simple deployments can go live in days, while enterprise deployments take weeks. The longer rollouts are the ones with ATS or HRIS integration, SSO configuration and several regions. VidCruiter provides a dedicated implementation team for every client.
What is an alternative to VidCruiter with public pricing?
The Cognitive publishes its plan prices and runs a live two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes that returns a scorecard against your criteria. Plans start at $99 a month, and Enterprise is custom. Spark Hire, Willo and Hireflix also publish prices for video interviews that your own team reviews or runs.
Is VidCruiter or Spark Hire better for a small team?
Spark Hire usually fits a small team better, because it publishes its prices and pairs an ATS with one-way and live video. VidCruiter quotes every deal and is built for enterprise, public sector and healthcare teams that need many interview formats and compliance certificates. VidCruiter itself points small teams wanting a basic recording app to lighter alternatives.
