LinkedIn Recruiter Alternatives in 2026: 10 Ways to Find Candidates Beyond LinkedIn
By Sparsh Goyal, Founder at The Cognitive. Published · Last updated
- Top picks: The Cognitive to replace the seat, Juicebox for natural-language search, hireEZ to cut seats while keeping InMail, SeekOut to search your ATS too, Gem to build a CRM around a seat you keep.
- The Cognitive is the only alternative here that finds people, reveals their emails and phone numbers, and runs a live AI video interview with them, on a self-serve monthly plan priced by credits instead of seats.
- LinkedIn sells Recruiter per seat through one- to multi-year agreements; keep 1 seat if your candidates answer InMail, and see Recruiter Lite if you only hire a few people a year.
- I run The Cognitive. The other 9 are judged from their own websites, help pages and public reviews, read on 30 September 2026.
The best LinkedIn Recruiter alternative in 2026 is The Cognitive if you want to stop paying for a seat and still reach the people you need. It searches ~900M public profiles from a plain-English brief and reveals emails and phone numbers, so you're not limited to InMail. Then it interviews the people you pick, live, with AI. It's priced by credits, not per seat, on a monthly plan you can cancel anytime. Juicebox, hireEZ, SeekOut and Gem round out the top 5.
The reason people look is the seat. LinkedIn says Recruiter "does not have a single standard price" and is sold per seat through "a one- to multi-year agreement", according to its pricing page. On G2, "very expensive" is the complaint reviewers raise most.
The best LinkedIn Recruiter alternatives in 2026
- The Cognitive: best overall, because it finds people, reveals their contact details and interviews them, with no seat to pay for.
- Juicebox: best for natural-language search on a month-to-month seat.
- hireEZ: best for cutting seats while keeping InMail in your sequences.
- SeekOut: best for searching your ATS and outside profiles in one place.
- Gem: best if you keep LinkedIn Recruiter and want a CRM around it.
- Pin: best free plan with email sequences.
- Loxo: best for agencies that want the ATS and the sourcing in one system.
- ContactOut: best for getting emails and phone numbers for the LinkedIn profiles you already view.
- Indeed Smart Sourcing: best for volume roles where active job seekers matter most.
- Findem: best for enterprises that want referrals, alumni and past applicants searched first.
Full disclosure: I run The Cognitive. I put it first on 4 tests: it finds people, reaches them outside InMail with an email or phone number, runs a live AI video interview with the people it found, and does it on a self-serve plan with a published price and no annual commitment. The Cognitive is the only one here that passes all 4. After #1, the order is my own judgment of how much of a seat each tool can replace for a typical team, not a score. I have not used the other 9 on a paid account. What I say about them comes from their own websites, help pages and public reviews, read on 30 September 2026.
Why do recruiters look for LinkedIn Recruiter alternatives?
LinkedIn says its network has more than 1 billion members, and many recruiters love Recruiter. G2 reviewers give it 4.5 out of 5 from 442 reviews. But the same reviews, and plenty of threads on r/recruiting, keep coming back to 4 problems:
- The seat costs the same whether you hire or not. "The cost keeps going up, and as a solo agency it's becoming very expensive," one G2 reviewer wrote. A retained search firm on Reddit described "per-seat pricing that scales with headcount regardless of usage".
- Long contracts. LinkedIn sells Recruiter through one- to multi-year agreements, and several buyers on Reddit report being offered only 36-month terms at renewal.
- InMail limits. Each seat gets a monthly InMail allowance, from 30 on Recruiter Lite to 150 on Recruiter. LinkedIn also warns you if your response rate drops below 13% over 14 days, per its InMail policy.
- Replies. "Candidates are inundated with InMails. Email might be the more productive way to go," a recruiter on Reddit put it.
Not everyone agrees. Some agencies still get "a much higher response rate via LinkedIn InMails", and LinkedIn credits back every InMail that gets a response within 90 days. So the real question is whether you need the seat for every recruiter, every month.
How do the top LinkedIn Recruiter alternatives compare?
Here is how they stack up against LinkedIn's own plans. I filled in every cell from the vendor's own site on 30 September 2026:
| Tool | Best for | Replace or add to a seat | How you reach people | Pricing model | Price on website? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn Recruiter | Full-network search and InMail | The baseline | InMail, 100 to 150 per seat a month | Per seat, one- to multi-year agreement | No |
| LinkedIn Recruiter Lite | Hiring a few people a year | The baseline | InMail, 30 per seat a month | Per seat, monthly or yearly | At checkout |
| The Cognitive | Find, reveal and interview with no seat | Replace | Email and phone reveals; email and SMS on Sourcing Pro | Credits on a monthly plan | Yes |
| Juicebox | Natural-language search | Replace | Sequences with social and call steps | Per seat plus credits, free plan | Yes |
| hireEZ | Fewer seats, InMail kept | Reduce | Email, SMS and InMail | Solo plan; enterprise by quote | Solo plan only |
| SeekOut | ATS and outside profiles together | Replace or add | Core plan self-serve; teams per seat, annual | Core plan only | |
| Gem | CRM around a kept seat | Add | Email, SMS and InMail | By headcount, by quote | Startup program only |
| Pin | A free start | Replace | Sequences (free plan: email only) | Free plan, then per user | Yes |
| Loxo | Agency ATS with sourcing | Replace | Email and SMS | Per user, annual, paid up front | Yes |
| ContactOut | Contact data for LinkedIn profiles | Add | Contact data only | Monthly subscription | Yes |
| Indeed Smart Sourcing | Active job seekers' resumes | Add | Indeed messaging | Subscription with a monthly contact allowance | Yes |
| Findem | Warm sources before outbound | Add | Outbound sequences | Studio plan priced; platform by quote | Studio only |
Should you replace the seat or add to it?
The tools split into 2 camps, and that is the first decision to make. (If you want to replace LinkedIn as a job board too, see LinkedIn alternatives.)
- Replace the seat. The Cognitive, Juicebox, Pin and Loxo find people and give you a way to reach them without InMail. They suit teams that hire in waves or can't justify a seat per recruiter.
- Add to the seat. Gem, ContactOut, Findem and Indeed Smart Sourcing work alongside LinkedIn. hireEZ sits in between, selling fewer seats rather than none.
Plenty of teams do both. They keep 1 Recruiter or Lite seat for the InMail that works and move everyday sourcing to a tool priced by use.
How do you choose a LinkedIn Recruiter alternative?
Do your candidates answer InMail or email?
Check your own numbers before you switch. If your InMails get replies, keep a seat. If they don't, email is a fair bet: Ashby measured a 19.6% average reply rate across more than 500,000 sourcing email sequences, in its sourcing report. The Cognitive reveals an email for 5 credits and a phone number for 10, and you're charged only when one comes back.
Do you search in Boolean or in plain English?
LinkedIn Recruiter gives you filters and LinkedIn Boolean search. Newer tools read a brief. In The Cognitive, we typed "Senior backend engineer with 5+ years of Go who has built payments systems, Remote EU", and it turned that into filters we could edit, with "Remote EU" read as Germany plus 7 other countries.
Do you pay for seats or for results?
A seat suits a recruiter who sources every day. Credits suit a team that hires in bursts, because you pay for the people you actually look at. The Cognitive charges 1 credit per candidate a search returns, and the plan isn't tied to a seat count.
What happens after you find someone?
LinkedIn stops at the message. Most alternatives stop at the sequence. The Cognitive goes one step further: it invites the people you pick to a live AI interview, so you've heard how they answer before your first call.
The 10 best LinkedIn Recruiter alternatives, reviewed
1. The Cognitive: best overall, because it finds people, reveals their contact details and interviews them, with no seat to pay for
The Cognitive is AI recruiting software that sources candidates across ~900M public profiles and interviews them live with AI. It does the 3 jobs you bought a LinkedIn seat for, plus 1 the seat never did.
You describe the role in plain English and edit the filters it reads from your brief. Every person found is judged against your must-haves, and anyone who misses one drops below the people who meet them. When the judge names a past role as the reason for a match, the card shows it. Then you reveal an email or phone number for the people you want, and on the Sourcing Pro plan you can send them email and SMS sequences.
Shortlisted people can be invited to a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes. The rubric stays fixed for the role and the questions adapt to every answer, and you get a scored report, the transcript and the recording.
It's a monthly plan you can cancel from the billing page, priced by credits, not seats. There's no InMail, so if your candidates only answer on LinkedIn, keep 1 seat alongside it.
Pick it if you want to stop paying for a seat between hiring waves and still get to interviewed candidates. AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month, both self-serve. More detail is on our AI sourcing page.

2. Juicebox: best for natural-language search on a month-to-month seat
Juicebox searches "800M global profiles and 30+ diverse data sources" and writes the query for you: "No Booleans needed." Its sequences include "social and call steps", and it reveals emails with credits, with phone numbers from its Growth plan up.
The reason buyers give is flexibility. "Juicebox felt easier to commit to because it's month-to-month, and LinkedIn doesn't offer that," one G2 reviewer wrote. ATS integration sits on the custom Business plan, which is annual only. G2: 4.8 from 63 reviews. More in our Juicebox review.
Pick it if you want easy search and outreach on a monthly seat, and you don't need interviews.
3. hireEZ: best for cutting seats while keeping InMail in your sequences
hireEZ searches "1B+ candidate profiles across 45+ channels" and runs "Email, SMS, and InMail engagement" on top of your ATS. It sells seat reduction rather than seat removal, which suits teams that still rely on InMail for some roles.
The solo plan shows a price and a 7-day free trial. Team pricing is "configured to the stack hireEZ replaces", after a 4-week verification. G2: 4.6 from 264 reviews. Our hireEZ alternatives guide covers its rivals.
Pick it if you run outbound at scale and want fewer LinkedIn seats, not zero.
4. SeekOut: best for searching your ATS and outside profiles in one place
SeekOut runs "One search across ATS + 1B+ profiles", and its Chrome extension "Works on LinkedIn, GitHub, and more", with verified personal and work emails. SeekOut Recruit Core is self-serve, with 14 days free and no contract commitment.
Searching your own ATS needs a custom tier, and team plans are billed annually per seat. G2: 4.5 from 797 reviews. See also our SeekOut review and hireEZ vs SeekOut.
Pick it if your past applicants are as valuable as new profiles and you hire at enterprise scale.
5. Gem: best if you keep LinkedIn Recruiter and want a CRM around it
Gem works alongside LinkedIn. Its extension adds profiles "from LinkedIn and over 20 other sites", it sends "Email, SMS, Inmail", and it searches "800M+ profiles" plus your past candidates. Gem says most sourcing tools "stop at search", while it adds outreach and pipeline management.
Pricing is "Based on your company's FTE count", with a published startup program. G2: 4.7 from 309 reviews.
Pick it if you're keeping your LinkedIn seats and want sequences, CRM and analytics in one place.
6. Pin: best free plan with email sequences
Pin says "LinkedIn Recruiter limits you to one platform" and searches "850M+ profiles" from a pasted job description. Its free plan includes weekly contact lookups and email-only sequences.
One thing to know: in September 2026 Pin's CEO posted that "Pin's page and my profile are no longer on LinkedIn", and that the company is working with LinkedIn to resolve it. G2: 4.8 from 27 reviews.
Pick it if you want to start sourcing and emailing candidates for free.
7. Loxo: best for agencies that want the ATS and the sourcing in one system
Loxo combines sourcing, CRM, ATS and outreach on "an 850-million-person talent graph we built ourselves", with email and SMS outreach and "verified mobile, personal, and work contact details".
Plans are per user, "Annual plans, paid up front", with a 7-day trial of the full platform. G2: 4.6 from 182 reviews. See our Loxo review. For more agency options, see our recruitment software for agencies list.
Pick it if you run an agency and want to replace both the seat and the ATS.
8. ContactOut: best for getting emails and phone numbers for the LinkedIn profiles you already view
ContactOut adds to LinkedIn rather than replacing it: its extension finds "emails and phone numbers for 75% of people on LinkedIn". It has a free daily allowance and self-serve monthly plans.
It's contact data only, with no ranking, pipeline or screening. G2: 4.5 from 113 reviews.
Pick it if you browse LinkedIn, even on a free account, and only need a way to email people.
9. Indeed Smart Sourcing: best for volume roles where active job seekers matter most
Indeed Smart Sourcing searches "more than 380M Sourceable Profiles", which are public Indeed job seeker accounts, with unlimited resume search and a free 14-day trial. You contact people through Indeed's own messaging, within a monthly contact allowance.
It reaches a different pool from LinkedIn: active job seekers rather than passive professionals. Our Indeed Smart Sourcing review covers it in full.
Pick it if you hire for frontline or volume roles where people are actively looking.
10. Findem: best for enterprises that want referrals, alumni and past applicants searched first
Findem doesn't try to replace LinkedIn. It unifies inbound applicants, prior applicants, referrals, alumni, CRM and external sources across "more than 850 million candidate profiles", and now sells AI video interviews.
Its self-serve Studio plan now shows a price, but the full platform and its AI interviews are sold through a demo. G2: 4.7 from 36 reviews.
Pick it if you're an enterprise team with years of candidates you've never re-engaged.
LinkedIn Recruiter vs Recruiter Lite: should you downgrade instead?
Sometimes the best LinkedIn Recruiter alternative is a cheaper LinkedIn plan. LinkedIn says Recruiter Lite can be bought "as a monthly or yearly subscription, and you can cancel at any time", with a possible free trial, per its plan comparison. Our LinkedIn Recruiter Lite review goes deeper. The trade-offs are real, though:
- Network: Lite reaches "Up to your 3rd-degree connections", while Recruiter has "Full access to entire network".
- InMail: 30 per seat a month on Lite, against 150 on Recruiter, and no bulk InMail.
- Filters: 20 on Lite, 40+ on the paid plans.
- Seats and ATS: Lite goes up to 5 seats and has no ATS integration.
A common setup is Lite for the InMail that works, plus a credit-based tool like The Cognitive for search, contact details and screening. For the full plan breakdown, see what LinkedIn Recruiter costs, plan by plan.
Who is The Cognitive built for?
We built The Cognitive for the team that pays for LinkedIn seats all year but only hires hard for a few months of it. You search when you need to, pay for the people you look at, and hand your hiring manager interviewed candidates instead of profiles.
- Keep 1 seat if InMail works for you. The Cognitive handles the search, the contact details and the first interview.
- Keep your ATS. It connects through one unified integration and writes the interview score and report link back to candidates you imported from it.
- Agencies keep their agency ATS. The Cognitive finds and interviews the candidates you submit.
How do LinkedIn Recruiter alternatives charge?
There are 4 pricing models, and the right one depends on how steadily you hire:
- Per seat: LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut teams, Loxo and Gem. Best when each recruiter sources every day.
- Credits for results or reveals: The Cognitive, Juicebox credits and Pin lookups. Best when hiring comes in waves.
- Contact-data subscriptions: ContactOut and Indeed's contact allowance. Best as an add-on.
- Quote per deployment: Findem and hireEZ enterprise. Best for large teams buying through procurement.
The Cognitive's AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month. A search costs 1 credit per candidate it returns, 5 to reveal an email and 10 to reveal a phone number. For who else shows a rate, see our AI recruiting software pricing comparison.
How do you test an alternative before you cancel a seat?
Don't cancel first. Take 1 open role and run it through LinkedIn and through the alternative for 2 weeks. Count the people you'd actually contact, the replies you get, and the hours it took. If the alternative wins, drop a seat at renewal, not the day before, because LinkedIn contracts run on agreed terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best LinkedIn Recruiter alternative?
The Cognitive is the best LinkedIn Recruiter alternative in 2026 if you want to stop paying for seats. It searches ~900M public profiles from a plain-English brief, reveals emails and phone numbers, and interviews the people you pick live with AI, on a monthly plan priced by credits. Juicebox, hireEZ, SeekOut and Gem round out the top 5.
What is cheaper than LinkedIn Recruiter?
Tools priced by credits or month-to-month seats can cost less for teams that don't source every day. The Cognitive starts at $49/month for AI Sourcing with no seat count, and Juicebox, Pin and ContactOut also publish self-serve prices. LinkedIn Recruiter has no single standard price and is sold per seat through one- to multi-year agreements.
How much is LinkedIn Recruiter?
There is no list price for the cost of LinkedIn Recruiter: LinkedIn says Recruiter does not have a single standard price. It is sold per seat, through a one- to multi-year agreement, and the price depends on seats, company size, region and contract terms. Recruiter Lite is self-serve, monthly or yearly, and you see the price at checkout. Our LinkedIn Recruiter pricing guide covers each plan.
Can I get candidate emails and phone numbers without InMail?
Yes. The Cognitive reveals an email for 5 credits and a phone number for 10, charged only when one comes back, and sends email and SMS sequences on the Sourcing Pro plan. Juicebox, SeekOut, Loxo and ContactOut also provide emails, and some provide phone numbers.
Can I use an alternative alongside LinkedIn Recruiter?
Yes, and many teams do. A common setup is 1 Recruiter or Recruiter Lite seat for the InMail that works, plus The Cognitive for search, contact details and a live AI first interview. Gem, ContactOut and Findem are also built to work alongside LinkedIn.
Is there a free LinkedIn Recruiter alternative?
Juicebox and Pin have free plans, and ContactOut has a free daily allowance of emails and phone numbers. The Cognitive has a free trial with 100 sourcing credits, so you can run a real role before paying.
Does InMail still get better replies than email?
It depends on your candidates. Some agencies still see higher replies on InMail, and LinkedIn credits back every InMail that gets a response within 90 days. LinkedIn also warns seats whose InMail response rate drops below 13% over 14 days. For email, Ashby measured a 19.6% average reply rate across more than 500,000 sourcing sequences. The two figures measure different things, so test both channels on the same role before you cancel a seat.
What are the best LinkedIn Recruiter alternatives for executive search?
For executive search, The Cognitive finds senior candidates across ~900M public profiles and interviews them live before you present them to a client. If you need an agency system of record too, Loxo combines sourcing with an ATS and CRM.
