Loxo Recruiting Software Review: ATS, CRM, Sourcing and AI Agents
Loxo is recruiting software for agencies and search firms. It puts an ATS, a recruiting CRM, sourcing on an "850M+ talent graph", email and SMS outreach and AI agents in one system of record. Pricing is per user, billed annually, with a 7-day free trial. It rates 4.6 out of 5 on G2 from 182 reviews.
I run The Cognitive, which competes with Loxo on sourcing and outreach, so weigh this review with that in mind. Every Loxo fact below was read on loxo.co and G2 on 4 October 2026. I have not used Loxo on a paid account.

What is Loxo recruiting software?
Loxo calls itself a Talent Intelligence Platform. In its own words it "unifies sourcing, CRM, ATS, outreach and AI Agents into one system of record". The company dates the platform to 2012, and its product pages say it is "Trusted by 125,000+ recruiters around the globe".
The pitch is consolidation. Loxo wants to replace a separate ATS, CRM, sourcing database, outreach tool and contact data provider with one bill. Its homepage says the talent graph behind it is "an 850-million-person talent graph we built ourselves" and adds: "Not a GPT wrapper on rented data."
- Loxo ATS. A Kanban pipeline where you drag candidates between stages, and stage moves can trigger emails, scheduling, campaigns and AI submittal summaries.
- Loxo CRM. Your candidate and client database, with Boolean search and filters, kept current by a Self-Updating CRM Agent.
- Loxo Source. Search across Loxo's graph and your own database in one pass.
- Loxo Outreach. Email, SMS, calls and meetings in one place, with multi-stage email and SMS sequences and A/B testing.
- Sales CRM. Business development and client prospecting inside the same database as your candidates.
- Integrations. A Loxo Marketplace of integrations, email and calendar sync, a Chrome extension and an MCP connection to your own AI tools, plus API access on Professional.
How does Loxo work, step by step?
Loxo's pricing page lays out what it calls Full Agentic Mode. The agents run the search up to the shortlist, then stop. Loxo puts it plainly: "Autonomous through the shortlist. Never through the decision."
- 1. Intake. The Job Intake agent turns a hiring manager conversation into weighted requirements.
- 2. Skill DNA and job description. An agent writes the role's Skill DNA, then the job description from it.
- 3. Longlist. The Longlist agent screens up to 10,000 candidates from the 850M+ graph and your own database.
- 4. Shortlist. The Shortlist agent ranks candidates across 7 dimensions, with evidence for each call and contact details when available.
- 5. Your decision. A recruiter picks who to approach. Loxo says no candidate is ever contacted, advanced or rejected by an agent acting alone.
- 6. Outreach. Personalized email and SMS sequences go out and follow up.
- 7. Pipeline and client. Candidates move through the ATS, the AI Notetaker writes up calls, and clients follow progress in a Hiring Manager Portal.
Loxo pricing: how is it priced?
Loxo publishes starting prices for 2 of its 3 plans. Core and Professional are priced per user per month, "billed annually", and both carry the line "Annual plans, paid up front." Enterprise is "Custom annual agreements". I have left the figures out on purpose; check loxo.co/pricing for today's numbers.
Core is the ATS and CRM with natural-language search over your own database, email and calendar sync and a Chrome extension. Professional adds Loxo Source on the 850M+ graph, every AI agent, contact information with shortlists "when available", API access and 2,500 credits per seat each month, pooled across the team. Boosts raise that to 5,000 or 12,500 credits per seat, and Loxo says your account team sizes Boost pricing with you.
There is no free plan. The free option is a 7-day trial of the full Professional platform with no credit card. Migration is free for Core teams of 3 or more seats; Professional and Enterprise migrations are scoped as fixed packages before you sign.
What do Loxo reviews on G2 say?
Loxo holds 4.6 out of 5 on G2 from 182 reviews, read on 4 October 2026. 141 are five-star and 3 are one-star. G2's tagged pros are led by Ease of Use (45 mentions), User Interface (34) and Time-saving (24). The cons are led by Limited Customization (12), then Missing Features, Email Functionality Issues and Candidate Management (9 each).
G2's summary says users praise the "user-friendly interface" and that "some users note that the sourcing data can occasionally be outdated." A founder of a small agency liked consolidating "our ATS, CRM, and sourcing stack into one high-performing platform" and noted a "slight learning curve" at setup.
The critical reviews cluster on data and price. A division director wrote that "the data enrichment is not reliable and is often outdated or unavailable". A staffing consultant said the Longlist agent "often matches talent based solely on job titles". A healthcare staffing reviewer called Loxo "expensive for the value provided" and said "the pricing feels high for smaller agencies".
Where does Loxo not fit?
These limits come from Loxo's own site and its G2 reviewers.
- It does not interview anyone. The agents stop at a ranked shortlist, and the AI Notetaker only records calls a person runs, so every first screen is still on your recruiters.
- There is no monthly plan. Core and Professional are annual and paid up front, which is a real commitment for a 1 or 2 person desk.
- Outside sourcing needs Professional. Core searches your own database only.
- Contact data comes "when available", and outdated enrichment is the most repeated complaint on G2.
- Temp and contract desks may find gaps. One G2 reviewer said it "isn't very user-friendly for temp jobs", with no live view of who is on assignment.
- Scheduling and Deduplication agents are listed as "Coming soon" on the pricing page.
Who is Loxo for?
- Direct hire and executive search firms that want ATS, CRM, sourcing and outreach in one system and one bill.
- Agencies that do their own business development, because the Sales CRM sits in the same database as candidates.
- Firms of 3 or more seats moving off an older ATS, where Core migration is free.
- Teams happy to sign an annual contract and run a 7-day trial on a live search first.
How does Loxo compare with alternatives?
G2 lists Zoho Recruit, Bullhorn and Crelate as Loxo's top-rated alternatives, and its comparison list puts Recruit CRM first. The full side by side, with pricing models and who each suits, is in our Loxo alternatives guide. For the wider agency field, see recruitment software for agencies. Search firms weighing Loxo against tools built for retained and executive work should also read the best executive search software.
If the gap is a first-round interview rather than another system of record, an ATS swap will not close it. That is the job an AI interviewer does, next to whichever ATS you keep.
Verdict: who should buy Loxo, and who should not
- Verdict: a well-rated, agency-first platform that collapses ATS, CRM, sourcing, outreach and BD into one system. Its agents build the shortlist and leave the decision and the interview to your team.
- Buy it if you run a search or direct hire firm, want fewer tools and can commit to an annual plan.
- Look elsewhere if you need month-to-month billing, a free plan, or AI-run first interviews.
- Before you commit, use the 7-day trial on a real job order and check how many shortlisted candidates come back with a working email and phone number.
Disclosure: who published this
The Cognitive publishes this review. We compete with Loxo on sourcing and outreach: we search ~900M public profiles from a plain-English brief, and email and SMS sequences come with the Sourcing Pro plan. We are not an ATS or a CRM, so we do not replace Loxo's system of record.
Loxo is not one of our 60+ ATS integrations. A Loxo firm can still move candidates in by CSV upload and share results through a read-only report link. What we add is a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes, scored 1 to 5 per criterion. AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Loxo?
Loxo is recruiting software for agencies and search firms that combines an ATS, a recruiting CRM, sourcing, outreach, a Sales CRM and AI agents in one system. It sources from a talent graph it says covers 850M+ professionals.
Is Loxo an ATS or a CRM?
Loxo is both. Every plan includes the full ATS and recruiting CRM in one workflow; the Professional plan adds Loxo Source and the AI agents on top.
How much does Loxo cost?
Loxo prices per user per month, billed annually and paid up front. Starting prices for Core and Professional are published on loxo.co/pricing; Enterprise is a custom annual agreement, and extra agent credits are sized with your account team.
Does Loxo have a free trial or a free plan?
Loxo has a 7-day free trial and no free plan. The trial is the full Professional platform, including Loxo Source and the agents, with no credit card needed.
What does Loxo AI do?
Loxo AI runs a search up to the shortlist. Its agents take the intake, write the job description, screen up to 10,000 candidates and rank a shortlist across 7 dimensions, then a recruiter decides who to contact.
Does Loxo run AI interviews?
No. Loxo's AI Notetaker records and transcribes calls your team runs, and its Scheduling agent is listed as coming soon, but no Loxo agent interviews candidates. The Cognitive runs a live, two-way AI video interview and can sit next to Loxo.
What do Loxo reviews say?
Loxo reviews are strongly positive: 4.6 out of 5 on G2 from 182 reviews on 4 October 2026. Users praise ease of use and the all-in-one setup; the common complaints are outdated contact data, limited customization and price for small agencies.
Is Loxo worth it?
Loxo is worth it for a search or direct hire firm that wants to replace several tools with one and can sign an annual plan. A solo recruiter who wants monthly billing or a free plan should look at the alternatives first.
What are the best Loxo alternatives?
The usual Loxo alternatives are Bullhorn, Crelate, Recruit CRM and Zoho Recruit for the agency ATS and CRM. To add outside sourcing and a live AI interview to any of them, The Cognitive works alongside; our Loxo alternatives guide compares them all.
