Paycor Pricing 2026: Plans, Costs and What Buyers Pay
By Sparsh Goyal, Founder at The Cognitive. Published · Last updated
- Paycor quotes every plan, and no price appears on its website.
- On Business.com's previous prices, a 25-person company on Cor would have paid $499 a month, before add-ons.
- Recruit & Hire covers 3 jobs on Essential, 5 on Cor and unlimited on Complete +ASO.
Paycor does not publish prices. Its four small-business plans, Basic, Essential, Cor and Complete +ASO, are quoted by company size, and so is everything for companies with 50 to 1,000+ employees. Recruiting comes inside the plans as Paycor Recruit & Hire: 3 jobs on Essential, 5 on Cor, unlimited on Complete +ASO, and none on Basic. Paycor also sells Recruiting as an add-on you request a quote for.
The last published figures ran from $99 a month plus $6 per employee for Basic to $299 a month plus $16 per employee for Complete, per Business.com (updated 10 February 2026). Business.com calls them previous prices. Today Paycor offers 50% off for the first 6 months on small-business plans, with "Some Restrictions Apply". There is no free trial. Paycor has run as a standalone business unit of Paychex since that deal completed on 14 April 2025.
How much does each Paycor plan cost?
Paycor splits buyers in two at the door. Companies below 50 employees see a plan grid with features and a form where the prices should be. Companies with 50 to 1,000+ employees see a list of modules and a form called "Get Plans & Pricing". Neither path shows a dollar figure.
The small-business grid is still useful, because it shows what each plan includes. That matters more than usual here, because the recruiting tool is capped by plan.
| Plan | Last published price | Recruit & Hire | Headline additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $99 a month plus $6 per employee | Not included | Payroll and tax service, OnDemand Pay |
| Essential | $159 a month plus $9 per employee | 3 jobs | E-Verify, custom report builder, HR Support Center |
| Cor ("Most Popular") | $199 a month plus $12 per employee (as "Core") | 5 jobs | Expense Management, Cor Leadership Dashboard, Paycor Engage |
| Complete +ASO | $299 a month plus $16 per employee (as "Complete") | Unlimited jobs | Dedicated HR Business Partner, Learning Management, Talent Development |
| Mid-market (50 to 1,000+) | Not published | Not listed; ask | Payroll, HR, Onboarding, Analytics |
A few more grid details. Essential and Cor both get Paycor Analytics at Basic level, while Complete +ASO gets Analytics Pro. Complete +ASO alone adds HR Services such as safety and OSHA help, an EAP and 401(k) plan admin, plus Career Management and Paycor Paths. The mid-market page carries its own offer, "1 Month Free HCM Cor".
Paycor spells the third plan "Cor" on its grid. Most third-party write-ups call it "Core". They are the same plan.
Four add-ons sit under the grid, with one "Request a Quote" button: Workers Comp, Time + Scheduling, Benefits Admin and Recruiting. Paycor describes the Recruiting add-on as a way to "streamline the recruiting process, text candidates, reward employee referrals and create a fully branded careers page that matches your website." Paycor does not say how the add-on relates to the Recruit & Hire row in the grid. If you need more jobs than your plan allows, ask whether the add-on lifts the cap or replaces it.

What does Paycor Recruiting include?
Paycor's recruiting software sits inside its HCM platform. Paycor's own summary: it "combines AI-powered job descriptions, candidate texting, and automated offer letters with onboarding, all within one HCM platform built to support hiring at any scale."
The feature list on Paycor's recruiting page covers three stages:
- Posting and attracting: AI-powered job descriptions, career pages, employee referrals and job board integrations, with "seamless job postings to 20,000+ online job boards".
- Managing applicants: a candidate dashboard, custom hiring workflows, candidate texting, recruiting analytics and streamlined approvals.
- Interviewing and hiring: interview scorecards, video interviewing through Spark Hire and Zoom integrations, background checks and pre-hire assessments through partners, and automated offer letters.
There is no price on the recruiting page. The only button is "Request a Consultation".
Does Paycor have AI sourcing?
Yes, in two forms, both described by Paycor. The newer one is WISE Assistant for Paycor Recruiting. Paycor says it "uses AI-assisted candidate review and matching to help your team prioritize qualified candidates" and helps teams "manage large applicant pools across multiple open roles". Paycor says it is "Built Into Paycor Recruiting. No separate tool needed."
WISE also lists "Automated Candidate Nurture", which can "automatically nurture your candidate pool with AI-powered outreach", and "Explainable Suggestions".
The older one is Paycor Smart Sourcing, still described in the recruiting page FAQ. Paycor says it lets an HR team "search multiple platforms for passive candidates" from "a database of more than 1.5 billion profiles". So Paycor does reach beyond applicants, not only rank them.
Paycor's own figures for both: WISE can "save your recruiting team up to 14 hours every week", and candidates it matches are "5x more likely to get hired". Paycor gives no method for these figures, so read them as marketing.
Two things Paycor does not say. It does not say which plan includes WISE Assistant or Smart Sourcing, or whether either costs extra; both pages end in "Request a Consultation". If you are buying Paycor partly for sourcing, get both answers in the quote.
Are the job caps a problem?
They can be. Gem's 2026 Recruiting Benchmarks found that "recruiters are managing 13.4 open roles at a time." Essential allows 3 jobs in Recruit & Hire and Cor allows 5. Paycor does not say whether the cap counts open jobs at once or jobs over a period, so ask. If it means open jobs at once, a company that hires steadily will hit it fast. That pushes it toward Complete +ASO or the Recruiting add-on. Count your open roles at peak before you pick a plan.
What drives Paycor's cost?
Paycor prices like most payroll and HCM vendors. Third-party reviews describe a monthly base fee plus a fee per employee per month, and the plan sets both. Paycor's own page shows no figures, so treat every number below as what someone else reported.
- Employee count. The per-employee fee is the part that grows with you.
- Plan. Each step up adds HR, analytics and talent tools, and raises the recruiting job cap.
- Add-ons. Workers Comp, Time + Scheduling, Benefits Admin and Recruiting are each quoted separately.
- Company size band. At 50 employees and above, you leave the plan grid and get a module-based quote.
- Promotions. The 50% off for 6 months and the free month of HCM Cor change year-one spend, not the rate you renew at.
What Paycor might cost at 10, 25 and 49 employees
Here is what Business.com's previous prices add up to at three company sizes. These are not current Paycor prices. They show how the base fee and the per-employee fee combine.
| Employees | Basic | Essential | Cor | Complete |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | $159 | $249 | $319 | $459 |
| 25 | $249 | $384 | $499 | $699 |
| 49 | $393 | $600 | $787 | $1,083 |
At 50 employees you leave the grid for a module quote, and no third party publishes a verified rate for that band.
What buyers report paying
CostBench, citing Vendr buyer data, reports Paycor contracts from roughly $6,272 to $55,918 a year, with a median annual contract of about $21,624. Elsewhere on the same page, CostBench gives a median of $24,000 a year based on 5 third-party buyer reports. The page does not give a sample size for the Vendr range, its second median rests on 5 reports, and the two medians disagree. Use the range as a rough frame, not a benchmark.
| Source | What it reports | Date | Caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business.com | Basic $99 a month plus $6 per employee; Essential $159 plus $9; Core $199 plus $12; Complete $299 plus $16 | 10 Feb 2026 | Called previous prices |
| CostBench (Vendr data) | About $6,272 to $55,918 a year; median about $21,624 | 9 Jun 2026 | Second median of $24,000 from 5 buyer reports; no sample size for the range |
Other published Paycor pricing guides list different tier figures from Business.com's. None of them is a current Paycor price list. The only current number is the one in your quote.
What hidden costs does Paycor have?
Paycor does not publish setup or implementation fees. It does not say whether WISE Assistant or Smart Sourcing is extra. And it does not say what the Recruiting add-on costs next to the Recruit & Hire row you already have. Those are the three gaps to close before you sign.
Time is a cost too. Business.com says Paycor implementation can take "anywhere from six weeks to six months", with the average "between two and three months". Plan your switch date around that.
A few other costs are worth asking about by name:
- Setup and implementation. Ask for them itemised, and ask whether the current offer waives any of them.
- Price after the promotion. 50% off for 6 months means the full rate starts in month 7. Ask for the month 7 price in writing.
- Add-on modules. Time, benefits and workers comp are each a separate quote. Get them in the same proposal so you can compare totals.
- Partner fees in recruiting. Background checks, pre-hire assessments and Spark Hire video interviews run through partners. Ask who bills you for them.
- Headcount changes. With a per-employee fee, growth raises the bill. Ask how and when the count is measured.
Paycor does say one helpful thing on its plans page: "There is no limit to the number of payrolls you run each month." Extra payroll runs should not add to the bill, but confirm it in the contract.
How to get a better quote:
- Quote two plans side by side. Ask for Essential and Cor, or Cor and Complete +ASO, with the same add-ons. The gap shows what the extra recruiting jobs really cost.
- Bring a competing quote. ADP, Paylocity and Paycom are also quote-only, so a real proposal from one of them is your strongest lever.
- Ask for the promotion on top. The 50% offer is printed on Paycor's small-business pricing page, so treat it as the starting point, not the discount.
- Price recruiting separately. If you only need more job slots, compare the Recruiting add-on against moving up a plan.
Does Paycor have a free trial?
No. Paycor has no free trial and no self-serve signup on its plans pages. You get a price by filling in a form or calling sales. Paycor's two current offers are promotional discounts after that contact:
- Under 50 employees: "Get 50% OFF for 6 months*", with "*Some Restrictions Apply". Paycor does not list the restrictions on the page.
- 50 to 1,000+ employees: "Exclusive Offer: Get 1 Month Free HCM Cor".
Did the Paychex deal change anything?
Paychex completed its acquisition of Paycor on 14 April 2025. It was an all-cash deal at $22.50 per share, about $4.1 billion of enterprise value. Paycor says it "will operate as a standalone business unit of Paychex". It adds that customers "will stay on the Paycor platform and maintain their service team relationships." Paycor's acquisition page makes no statement about pricing. If you are signing a multi-year deal, ask for a price cap at renewal in writing.
Is Paycor worth it?
Paycor is worth it if you want payroll, HR and inbound hiring in one system, and you are happy to buy through sales. The plan grid is broad. Even Essential pairs payroll and tax service with Recruit & Hire, E-Verify and an HR Support Center. For a small company that hires a few people a year from job boards and referrals, that is one vendor instead of three.
It is a weaker buy in three cases:
- You hire for many roles at once. The 3 and 5 job caps push you up to Complete +ASO.
- You want to compare prices before talking to anyone. Every figure comes through sales.
- Most of your hires do not apply. Gem's 2026 benchmarks found that "sourced candidates are nearly eight times more likely to be hired than inbound applicants." Direct sourcing delivered 11% of hires from just 2.6% of applications.
Most of Paycor's recruiting features, from job boards to career pages to applicant ranking, work on the people who come to you. Ask what Smart Sourcing adds and what it costs.
Volume is the other pressure. Ashby's 2026 Recruiter Productivity report found the average recruiter now processes 291 applications per hire, against roughly 100 in early 2021. WISE Assistant is Paycor's answer to that, and it may help, but its price is not published.
Comparing Paycor with ADP? ADP does not publish prices either, so you will be comparing two quotes. Our ADP pricing guide covers RUN, Workforce Now and TotalSource. For what an applicant tracking system costs on its own, see our ATS pricing guide.
What are cheaper or different options?
Some teams compare Paycor with another HCM. Others keep their HCM and add a tool built for finding and screening people who never applied. Both routes are below. (The Cognitive is our product.)
| Option | What it is | Pricing model | Price on website? |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Cognitive | AI sourcing, email outreach, live AI video interview, ATS sync | Monthly or yearly plans from $99 a month | Yes |
| ADP | Payroll and HCM | Quote | No |
| Paylocity | HCM with recruiting | Quote with a demo | No |
| BambooHR | HR platform with an ATS | Per employee per month, or a flat monthly rate for small teams | Yes |
| Rippling | HR, IT and payroll modules | Quote, platform plus modules | No |
The Cognitive: best for the recruiting part, next to your HCM
Paycor fills roles mostly from people who come to you. The Cognitive goes after the ones who never will. It is not an HR or payroll system, so Paycor, or any HCM, still runs payroll, benefits, onboarding and offers. The Cognitive is built for the outbound side: finding people, reaching them and interviewing them, with a published price. No other platform takes a hire from search to outreach to a live AI interview to your ATS in one place.
Start with a role written as you would explain it to a colleague. The Cognitive's AI sourcing searches a pool of about 900M public profiles. Every match comes with a short reason, drawn from that person's profile. Showing each person costs 1 credit.
Contact details are pay as you go in credits. A personal email costs 4. A phone number costs 12, on Pro plans and above. With Sourcing Pro and above, outreach goes out as email from the recruiter's Gmail or Outlook account, under their own name.
Candidates who answer can then sit a live two-way AI video interview. An AI interviewer appears on video while the candidate joins on camera, for 10 or 20 minutes, the length you set. The AI questions them on the work itself and presses on each reply, and you receive a scored report measured against your criteria. On the higher plans, candidates move in and out of your ATS through connections with 100+ ATS.
You buy AI Sourcing and AI Interviews as two separate plans, and each one starts at $99 a month. Prices are listed on The Cognitive's pricing page. A 7-day free trial needs no card.

Where Paycor is the better buy: The Cognitive runs no payroll and holds no HR records. It does not post jobs, build a careers page, take applications or send offer letters. If one system for HR and inbound hiring is the goal, Paycor or another HCM fits better.
The other HCM options, briefly
ADP quotes RUN for small businesses and Workforce Now for larger ones; see ADP pricing. Paylocity sells HCM with recruiting and asks you to "Request Pricing with a Free Demo". BambooHR publishes per-employee monthly prices on its website and suits teams that want HR first; see BambooHR pricing. Rippling sells a platform plus modules for HR, IT and payroll; see Rippling pricing.
The quickest test is a single live opening. Write the brief, pick a handful of matches, email them from your own account and let the AI interview whoever writes back. Start free with The Cognitive.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Paycor cost?
Paycor does not publish prices; every plan is quoted. Business.com, updated 10 February 2026, lists previous prices from $99 a month plus $6 per employee for Basic to $299 a month plus $16 per employee for Complete. CostBench, citing Vendr buyer data, puts contracts at about $6,272 to $55,918 a year, with a median of about $21,624.
Is recruiting included in Paycor plans?
Yes, from Essential up, with a cap on jobs. Paycor Recruit & Hire covers 3 jobs on Essential, 5 on Cor and unlimited jobs on Complete +ASO, and is not in Basic. Paycor does not define what the cap counts, so ask. It also lists Recruiting as an add-on you request a quote for.
Does Paycor have AI sourcing?
Yes, Paycor sells AI matching and sourcing through a consultation. WISE Assistant for Paycor Recruiting ranks and nurtures candidates in your applicant pool. Paycor Smart Sourcing searches for passive candidates in what Paycor calls a database of more than 1.5 billion profiles. Paycor does not say which plan includes them or whether they cost extra.
Does Paycor have a free trial?
No, Paycor has no free trial or self-serve signup. You get a price through a form or a sales call. Companies under 50 employees are offered 50% off for the first 6 months, with restrictions Paycor does not list. Companies with 50 to 1,000+ employees are offered 1 month free of HCM Cor.
Is Paycor cheaper than ADP?
There is no public list price for either, so the only fair test is two written quotes. Paycor and ADP both quote every plan. Ask both for the same headcount and the same modules, and compare the price after any promotion ends. Our ADP pricing guide covers RUN, Workforce Now and TotalSource.
Is Paycor cheaper than Paylocity?
You can only tell from two quotes, because neither publishes prices. Paylocity's pricing page asks you to "Request Pricing with a Free Demo", and Paycor quotes by company size. Ask for the same modules, including recruiting, and check whether Paycor's job caps apply at your plan.
What does Paycor integrate with?
Paycor says it offers 140+ APIs and a marketplace with hundreds of pre-built connectors. Ask whether the systems you use are on that list before you sign. If you add The Cognitive for sourcing and AI interviews, it connects with 100+ ATS on its higher plans to import and export candidates.
