SmartRecruiters vs Ceipal when contractors are part of the plan

SmartRecruiters vs Ceipal turns on contractors. If you mainly hire permanent employees and want AI shortlisting, SmartRecruiters is the focused corporate ATS. The contractor question most comparisons skip

Most agency platforms never meet SmartRecruiters in a deal. Ceipal can, because it sells a corporate and enterprise recruiting product as well. Its pitch is total talent: full time, direct hire and contingent sources in one container, enriched by AI, so recruiters search skills across every kind of worker rather than one job title at a time.

SmartRecruiters stays with permanent hiring. Its plan table lists an Agency Portal for working with outside recruiters, but the pages read describe no supplier contracts, contractor timesheets or invoice approval. Ceipal VMS does describe those, from contract origination to expiry, with work orders, timesheets and invoices in one place.

Choose SmartRecruiters if, choose Ceipal if

Nearly all your hiring is permanent, and applicant volume is the strain.

SmartRecruiters' High Volume plan adds AI candidate screening, Winston Chat and higher SMS and job distribution limits.

What Ceipal's Recruiter Assistant agents do

Ceipal calls Recruiter Assistant a suite of AI agents. These are the four it describes, in the order a requisition meets them.

  1. Job post optimisation Refines and optimises job postings to attract better applicants.
  2. Candidate relevancy check Analyses candidate profiles against the role to confirm the best matches.
  3. Match scoring Tags and ranks candidates by AI match score, which can trigger screening workflows, consent messaging and voice AI interviews.
  4. Voice Agent Runs AI voice conversations for routine candidate outreach, which Ceipal says improves response time and the interview process.

Who uses each system, and how

In SmartRecruiters, recruiters and hiring managers share requisitions for employees. Winston Match suggests people, Screen shortlists, Chat answers applicants and Companion takes on scheduling. Outside agencies, where used, submit through a portal and the employer stays in charge of the pipeline.

In Ceipal, the same login can hold a recruiter, a procurement lead and a project manager. Recruiters work the ATS and its job board search, procurement manages suppliers and their spend in the VMS, and project teams approve timesheets and invoices. It is wider than recruiting, which is the point for some buyers and overhead for others.

SmartRecruiters vs Ceipal pricing models

SmartRecruiters publishes a starting figure for Essential and asks you to request pricing for Professional, High Volume and Complete, with SMS and job distribution limits rising by plan. Ceipal publishes no prices; its pricing address now sends you to the homepage, and its corporate page describes "disruptive pricing options" without a figure.

Because Ceipal can include a VMS and workforce management, an honest comparison prices the same scope. If you only need the ATS, say so. If you need supplier management too, ask SmartRecruiters what you would add beside it.

Either system can sit beside The Cognitive, which searches ~900M public profiles, reveals verified emails and phones, and runs live AI video interviews of 10 or 20 minutes. Each report gives a 1 to 5 score per criterion, overall written feedback, a transcript and a recording.
