UX designer, product designer or UI designer: who are you hiring?
At many companies "product designer" now means what "UX designer" meant a few years ago: research, flows, interaction and visual design for one product area. "UI designer" leans visual. "UX designer" is still common in agencies, enterprise and government. Search all 3, then read the portfolio to see which job the person actually did.
Federal data does not settle it either. BLS counts these people as web and digital interface designers, responsible for "the functionality, usability, and compatibility" of an interface, and O*NET's reported titles for that code include UX Developer and UX Engineer. Write down what the role owns before you choose a title.
