AI Recruiting Agents in 2026: The 10 Best, From Sourcing to First Interview

The Cognitive is the best AI recruiting agent in 2026 if you want one agent that finds people and then interviews them. It searches ~900M public profiles for the role you describe, and runs a live, two-way AI video interview with the people you shortlist. hireEZ and Metaview come next: both source and screen, by voice rather than video. Findem and Humanly add AI video interviews, sold through a demo.

Buyers are moving. In Korn Ferry's 2026 talent acquisition survey of more than 1,670 talent leaders, 52% said they plan to add autonomous agents to their teams in 2026. The problem is that "AI recruiter agent" now covers everything from a search box to a phone bot. So I sorted these 10 by what the agent actually does with a candidate.

The best AI recruiting agents in 2026

  1. The Cognitive: best overall, for teams that want sourced candidates interviewed live on video.
  2. hireEZ: best for staffing desks that want sourcing and voice screening in one system.
  3. Metaview: best for a self-serve agent platform with per-user pricing.
  4. Findem: best for enterprises that want AI video interviews next to deep sourcing.
  5. Humanly: best for high-volume roles that need interviews around the clock.
  6. Juicebox: best AI sourcing agent with a free plan.
  7. Pin: best free AI recruiting agent for solo recruiters.
  8. Gem: best for agents that work through your own ATS and CRM history.
  9. Alex: best for interviewing the applicants you already have.
  10. Paradox: best for frontline hiring by chat and text.

Full disclosure: I run The Cognitive. It sits at #1 because it is the only tool here that finds people outside your database and runs a live, two-way AI video interview with them, in an account you can open without a sales call, at a published price. I have not used the other 9 on a paid account. What I say about them comes from their own websites, read on 3 October 2026.

What is an AI recruiting agent?

An AI recruiting agent is software that takes a recruiting job off your desk once you give it a brief. It searches for people, contacts them, screens or interviews them, and hands back a ranked result for a human to decide on. Our guide to what an AI recruiter is covers the definition properly, so I'll keep this to what matters when you buy one.

Vendors sell the same idea as an AI recruiter agent, an autonomous recruiting agent, AI recruiter software, a virtual AI recruiter or plain recruiter AI. Agentic recruiting means a platform that runs several agents together, one per job. There are 3 kinds:

Which AI recruiting agents actually source and interview?

I ran every tool on this page through the same 4 checks, one at a time. Each check removes a few names:

  1. Finds people outside your database. 8 of the 10 do. Alex rediscovers people already in your ATS, and Paradox works on people who applied.
  2. Also talks to those candidates with AI. 5 of those 8 do: The Cognitive, hireEZ, Metaview, Findem and Humanly. Juicebox, Pin and Gem stop at the list and the outreach.
  3. Talks to them on video. 3 of the 5 say so. hireEZ screens by "Voice AI" in "a natural phone experience", and Metaview's screener is "voice-first" with "no AI avatar". The Cognitive, Findem and Humanly run video.
  4. Lets you start without a sales call, at a published price. 1 of the 3. Findem and Humanly sell through "Request a demo" and "Get a Demo" and publish no price.

You can redo these checks yourself in an afternoon. A voice screen suits hourly roles, where candidates answer from their phone on a break. For a senior hire, I'd rather see the person answer a follow-up question on camera.

How do agentic recruiting platforms compare?

Here is how they stack up. I filled in every cell from the vendor's own site on 3 October 2026:

How I ranked these 10

I started with 15 tools that call themselves an AI recruiter or sell recruiting agents: the 10 above plus SeekOut, Eightfold, Mercor, Dover and Tezi. A tool made the list if it sells an agent that does recruiting work on its own, and if I could read its live site on 3 October 2026. Mercor now describes an expert network for AI labs, Dover is a free ATS with paid human recruiters, SeekOut lists its agents as "Early access", Eightfold is an enterprise suite sold by demo, and Tezi's site would not load that day.

The order follows 3 checks, in this priority: does the agent find people outside your database, does it talk to them with AI, and is the price on the website. The Cognitive passes all 3 and adds live video. hireEZ and Metaview pass all 3 by voice. Findem and Humanly source and interview but hide the price. Juicebox, Pin and Gem source without interviewing. Alex and Paradox interview without sourcing. Inside each group, the order is my judgment. I couldn't test interview quality or contact accuracy for the other 9, so I don't rank on either.

AI recruiter vs human recruiter: what changes?

Volume is why this category exists. Ashby found the average recruiter is processing 291 applications per hire, compared to roughly 100 in early 2021.

An AI recruiter takes the repeatable parts: the search, the first outreach, the first-round interview and the scoring against a rubric. A human recruiter keeps the parts that need judgment and trust. That means the intake with the hiring manager, the decision on who moves forward, the sell and the offer. Ask each vendor whether its agent can reject anyone on its own. In The Cognitive, nothing is rejected automatically; the recruiter reads the report and decides.

The limit is context. An agent only knows what your brief and feedback tell it. If the hiring manager rejected the last 2 finalists as too junior, write that into the brief.

How do you choose an AI recruiter agent?

4 questions narrow this list fast.

Does it find people who never applied?

This matters more than any interview feature. In Gem's 2026 benchmarks, sourced candidates were nearly 8 times more likely to be hired than inbound applicants. Gem also found that 46% of sourced hires were rediscovered from a company's own ATS or CRM, which is where Gem and Alex are strongest. The Cognitive searches public profiles for net-new people and does not search your ATS history. Mining that history is its own job, covered in our guide to candidate rediscovery.

Can an AI recruiter run first-round interviews?

Yes, and 7 of these 10 talk to candidates in some form. hireEZ and Metaview use voice, Paradox uses chat and text, and The Cognitive, Findem, Humanly and Alex use video. Then check whether the AI follows up on what the candidate said. In The Cognitive, the rubric is fixed for the role and the questions adapt live to each answer.

Will it respect your must-haves?

Agents that rank by how closely a profile resembles your brief can let a hard requirement slide. Ask the vendor what happens to someone who misses one. In The Cognitive, your brief is read into editable filters, and anyone who misses a must-have drops below the people who meet it. A required licence, degree or language only counts as met when the profile shows it.

Who sends the outreach, and from where?

An agent that emails people for you needs a clear answer on channels and mailboxes. Juicebox sequences can include social and call steps, Humanly reaches candidates by SMS, email and chat, and Pin's free plan sends email-only sequences. The Cognitive runs email and SMS sequences on the Sourcing Pro plan, sent from platform mailboxes, and a reply or opt-out on either channel stops both. Our list of recruiting outreach software compares sequencing tools on their own.

The 10 best AI recruiting agents, reviewed

1. The Cognitive: best overall, for teams that want sourced candidates interviewed live on video

The Cognitive is AI recruiting software that sources candidates across ~900M public profiles and interviews them live with AI. You describe the role in plain English and it reads the brief into filters you can edit. When I typed "Senior backend engineer with 5+ years of Go who has built payments systems, Remote EU", the filters included "Remote EU", read as Germany plus 7 other countries.

Every person is judged against the must-haves, and each result card opens with a "Why this match" line: 1 or 2 reasons traced to the profile, such as "Go listed in skills". There is no fit score. Everyone found stays with the role, so later searches skip people you've already seen. Once you've made 8 or more decisions, including 3 or more shortlists, what you shortlist and pass on shapes later ranking.

Shortlist someone and invite them to a live, two-way AI video interview of 10 or 20 minutes, in any of 9 languages. Candidates book their own slot without an account, and the invitation tells candidates the interview is run by AI. You get a 1 to 5 score per criterion plus overall written feedback, a weighted score out of 100, a suggested verdict, the transcript and the recording. Integrity flags are logged, not scored.

The recording above is a 5-minute live AI interview for a go-to-market role. The AI asks about an outbound email campaign, then follows up on reply rates and on how leads were qualified.

The trade-offs are specific. The Cognitive is not an ATS, and it doesn't search your ATS history. It connects to 60+ ATSs, including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, through one unified integration, and writes a note with score, summary and report link back only for candidates imported from the ATS. There are no phone or chat interviews and no LinkedIn InMail.

Pick it if you want to go from a one-line brief to interviewed candidates in one account. AI Sourcing starts at $49/month and AI Interview at $99/month.

2. hireEZ: best for staffing desks that want sourcing and voice screening in one system

hireEZ bills itself as an "Agentic AI Recruiting Platform" and describes your pipeline as "run by agents you direct". Its EZ Agent searches "a billion-plus profiles, 45+ platforms", runs outreach, and books interviews through an "AI Interview Scheduler". Its screening agent promises "a real screening conversation for every candidate", by voice or chat.

That screen is phone-based: hireEZ calls it "Voice AI" in "a natural phone experience with AI", and each call returns a transcript, highlights and "an integrity report that detects signals such as AI-assisted responses and voice inconsistencies." A solo plan is published with a 7-day free trial. Teams buy per seat through sales. Our hireEZ review goes further.

Pick it if you run outbound or staffing at volume and a phone screen is enough for your roles.

3. Metaview: best for a self-serve agent platform with per-user pricing

Metaview calls itself "The Agentic Recruiting Platform". Its "Truly autonomous AI sourcing agent" starts from your intake call: "the agent kicks off a web search, scanning and evaluating candidate profiles against your exact criteria." It publishes no profile count.

The screening agent is a "natural voice agent" that candidates call "whenever suits them, on any device", with follow-up questions, in 18 languages. Metaview says plainly there is "no AI avatar" and the experience is "voice-first". Pricing is per user per month, published for every plan except Enterprise, and the free plan includes the first 100 profiles sourced.

Pick it if you want to try several agents on a free plan and voice screening suits your roles. Our review of Metaview covers the note-taking side too.

4. Findem: best for enterprises that want AI video interviews next to deep sourcing

Findem searches "more than 850 million candidate profiles" and connects to your ATS and CRM. Its sourcing agent is called Fia: "Describe your ideal slate and let Fia do the rest." Its Studio lets anyone "try an agent for free".

Its AI video interviews are adaptive: "The AI asks context-aware follow-ups based on what the candidate says". They run "24/7, in any language, with structured scoring and fraud detection built in." The catch is buying. The interview page and the pricing page both lead to "Request a demo", and no price is published.

Pick it if you are an enterprise team that wants sourcing and video interviews from one vendor and is happy to go through sales. Our Findem review and Findem alternatives go further.

5. Humanly: best for high-volume roles that need interviews around the clock

Humanly is an "AI Recruiting Platform for High-Volume Hiring" that will "engage, screen, interview and schedule every candidate". It re-engages past applicants and "taps into a network of 600M+ profiles", and reaches people by SMS, email and chat.

Interviews come as "Structured AI video, voice, and async interviews" that "run 24/7 on the candidate's schedule." Its site doesn't say whether the video interview is live and two-way, so ask for a recording. There is no published price; every path leads to "Get a Demo".

Pick it if you hire for many similar roles and want candidates interviewed the night they apply.

6. Juicebox: best AI sourcing agent with a free plan

Juicebox sells its agents as "Your 24/7 Sourcing Partner": "Delegate your manual sourcing work to Juicebox Agents." The agents calibrate the search, analyze candidates and write personalized outreach across "800 million profiles across the globe from dozens of data sources". It integrates with 41 ATSs and 21 CRMs.

Prices are published for every plan except Business, and agents are billed per agent per month on top of seats. You can set up an agent on the free plan. Neither its agents page nor its pricing page mentions an interview, so screening happens somewhere else.

Pick it if you want an always-on sourcing agent today and already have a way to screen. See our Juicebox review for the detail.

7. Pin: best free AI recruiting agent for solo recruiters

Pin promises a pipeline that fills "While You Sleep": "Pin's AI recruiting agent runs 24/7 across 850M+ candidate profiles." The agent sources, screens resumes and books meetings through what Pin calls "Zero-Touch Scheduling", but doesn't interview anyone.

The free plan includes "1 AI Agent", "1 Job position", "Email-only sequences" and "5 contact lookup credits per week". Paid plans publish their prices, except Business. One thing to read first: Pin's homepage carries an "Update on Pin's presence on LinkedIn" notice.

Pick it if you work alone and want an agent sourcing for 1 role without paying. Our Pin alternatives list covers what to use instead.

8. Gem: best for agents that work through your own ATS and CRM history

Gem runs 3 named agents: an "AI Sourcing Agent", an "AI App Review Agent" and an "AI Fraud Detection Agent". The sourcing agent searches 800M+ profiles and draws "on a company's full ATS and CRM history, including past applications, interviews, and outreach".

AI features need the AI-Powered seat, and prices are published for the startup program only; everyone else talks to sales. Gem's site describes no AI interview. Our review of Gem covers the rest.

Pick it if you are an in-house team with years of applicants and want an agent to mine them first.

9. Alex: best for interviewing the applicants you already have

Alex, which used to be Apriora, sells itself as "One AI Recruiter. End to End Hiring." under the line "Interview everyone. Hire the best." It talks to candidates on whatever channel suits them: "a phone call on their commute, a video interview after dinner, or a quick text."

Its Talent Match feature "rediscovers top talent already in your ATS" and reaches out to them. Because it works on people already in your ATS, Alex fails the first check on this page. There is no published price; you request a demo.

Pick it if you have more applicants than you can screen and don't need new names.

10. Paradox: best for frontline hiring by chat and text

Paradox, now part of Workday, sells "Conversational hiring software that gets work done for you". Its assistant Olivia screens "through chat or text", over SMS, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, and schedules interviews. It is built for "frontline workers and managers".

Olivia works on people who apply. Paradox's site doesn't describe sourcing passive candidates, and pricing goes through "Request demo".

Pick it if you hire hourly staff at volume and your candidates live on their phones.

Who is The Cognitive built for?

I built The Cognitive for the role your inbox won't fill, usually because the right person already has a job and isn't reading job boards. You get a short list you would actually contact, and you hear each person answer real questions before you give them an hour. It works best next to what you already run:

Which AI recruiter agents publish their pricing?

6 of the 10 show at least one price on their website. Findem, Humanly, Alex and Paradox show none. Here are the models, read on 3 October 2026:

The Cognitive also has a free trial with 100 sourcing credits. For the wider market, see our AI recruiting software pricing comparison and the shortlist of low-cost AI recruiting tools with public prices.

How do you test an AI recruiter agent before you buy?

Use your hardest open role. Give 2 agents the same brief and count the people you would actually contact, not the total they return. If the agent interviews, take its interview yourself as a candidate and see whether it follows up on what you said. If you hire in New York City, read our page on Local Law 144 first.
